Pros: great location for base to explore; breakfast was good; special mention for Taylor who is based in the restaurant for breakfast - his English was excellent and he helped me with various things throughout the week including where to go, taxis, even checking out. Taylor was very polite and welcoming - he will do very well if he chooses to stay in the hospitality industry.||||Cons: I don't smoke, but this is a truly smokers hotel. Apparently I was in a non smokers room, but it smelt of smoke and there was also an ash tray in the room, I asked for a change of rooms, but I was told it was a non smokers room and I was in a cheap room (thanks for reminding me), and I couldn't change. While I enquired about the change of room, the receptionist contacted housekeeping, they went in my room, removed the ash tray, and like magic the room was non smoking - not a great start.||||Reception staff level of English was on my Experience mostly poor. It was fine however, we muddled through, but it was a little frustrating (it does market itself as international). I can't complain too much as my level of Chinese in barely even basic.||||Room was fine, could do with a lick of paint. As I was in a cheap room, the layout was quite strange, I didn't have a great view from my window, my view was a corridor with other guest rooms...I was woken up a few times by people walking past the window, talking and slamming doors. I really don't see the point in those windows?!||||Overall, I wouldn't come back, I'm sure there are more suitable places for me for...
Read moreWe stayed at the Hotel four nights.||||Excellent, well located hotel, next to the Muslim Quarter, with lots of restaurants, and plenty of shopping near by.||||We had a room with a large double bed on the 8th Floor. The room was excellent, comfortable bed, good mini refrigerator, nice furnishings, flat screen TV with one English speaking Chinese news channel. Very large bathroom, with an excellent shower. But the bed room was a bit crowded. ||||We had a couple of Issues:||-The air conditioning in the room was minimal.||-The front desk staff does not speak much English, we had to fight to get our room with a double bed, and at the price we reserved on Booking.com.||The daily cost of the room was about $65.00 US , plus $10 per person extra for breakfast.||The breakfast was OK, but not worth $20.||||Because of the location I would recommend staying...
Read moreThe hotel is located well and one can walk around to a few malls and shops easily. It is a bit noisy given that Xi'an is quite bustling city and it is located on a busy street. If you are a light sleeper perhaps you need ear plugs. It didn't bother me. ||Wifi was decent and service was fine too. I initially got a non smoking room but it smelled like smoke to me and I asked to be moved. Initially they said it is a non-smoking room but after I remarked that it smelled of smoke they moved me no questions asked. ||My only criticism is the breakfast - the one morning I had breakfast later (9am) but at this point the coffee was finished, the milk and some other items too. This didn't get replaced while I was dining although breakfast is until 10.30. ||Otherwise all good...
