Due to our bullet train delay, we missed our flight back to Singapore but after long hours of negotiations with the train company (because such delays are rare and no one knows how to deal with it), they put us up for the night at this hotel and we checked-in at an ungodly hour of 4am.||||In the midst of our exhaustion and panic regarding costly re-booking of flights, this hotel was truly the only thing that brought comfort. Despite the abrupt arrangement, the hotel staff went to great lengths to make us feel better, handling our luggage, bringing us tea and even offered us a family room, a large room with 3 beds which came with not 1 but 2 washrooms. The room was spacious and clean, with ample toiletries and a strong shower with warm water. ||||They also set us up with complimentary buffet breakfast the next day, and offered a late check-out if we needed more time to settle things. The breakfast was very comprehensive and tasty, with a selection of fruits, pastries and a choice of Western or Chinese dishes. Though most vegetable dishes in China looks daunting due to their unusual spices and oily sheen, the vegetables here are a must-try - stir-fried to perfection. All of us felt revived by the amazing made-to-order egg - I mean, its just an egg, but it was so crisp at the sides and slightly runny inside that you will feel like this egg is the light at the end of the tunnel. Okay, if you are just looking for a hotel to stay at, this breakfast can be best described as comprehensive and tasty, not the life-saving wonder that I am describing with gratitude. Haha.||||The hotel also comes with a room full of computers and phones, which is perfect for communicating with travel companies that are located in China. The staff will even help you converse in Chinese if you happen to need something from a particular company. Even in the wee hours of the morning, they provided friendly and prompt assistance, even reassuring us that they will try their best to help us with our situation. I think the people working at the hotel truly go out of their way to help guests.||||To cut a long story short, we eventually got our plane tickets booked by the train company. Word of advice if you are planning to fly on the same day as taking a train back to Xi'an - don't. Allow for some buffer time (an entire day to be safe). The bullet train is usually quite reliable and takes you to your destination in a fraction of the time, but unfortunately for us, it got delayed for 3.5 hours in the deep of the night.||||If you are looking for a hotel with easy access to the train station/airport, this hotel is great. Despite the grand, almost gaudy looking lobby, the rooms are actually clean and the beds are comfortable.||||Many thanks to the management - I think you guys are...
Read moreStayed here for 1 night as my flight arrived after 11pm. Only 2 airport buses are available then. I took the airport bus to Xi'an Train Station (last bus at 1am) and it stop right outside of Longhai Hotel so it's very convenient for me to stay here for the night. When I walked into the lobby after midnight, the lobby is dark as the lights are switched off. Only 2 reception staff are on duty and they acknowldged my booking via Agoda. Although fully paid for, a deposit of CNY200 is still required. Been allocated room 921 which is a twin room. Room is all right although can see sign of wear and tear. Each room has it's own wifi access by room no so the wifi is pretty strong for my phone and ipad. Very strong aircon. A kettle + 2 green tea bags are provided. The washroom came with rain shower and a bathtub. Toothbrush set, shampoo and showel gel are provided. TV receiver ia not very good - grainy although there are 2-3 English channels. When I checked out, the concierge is not able to help me get ak cab and gave me wrong info that cab are not allowed to stop infront of the hotel. But it's easy to walk out and just flag a cab. Location wise, it is very busy with surrounding shopping areas but it is not near to any metro station or the Muslim Street. Overall it's a convenient location for one night stay if on a midnight...
Read moreWe stayed here for 2 days and this was the worst hotel during our entire trip across China. The staff does not know English and took us over 30 minutes to check-in! Despite the description they don't take cards (Visa, MC, AMEX, etc.) only cash or UnionPay. Moreover, they take additional deposit so be prepared to have extra 500 to pay in addition to what you pay for the room (like if there was anything left to mess up in that room).||||There are no non-smoking rooms in this hotel so watch out if you are allergic. Smell at the corridors and in the rooms is really disgusting. Carpets were super dirty and we didn't feel like taking our shoes off when we went in there. But the best waited for us behind the bathroom doors - mold, mold everywhere, bathtub looked like from a horror movie (see attached pictures). There was mold on the ceiling in the room too (maybe smoke detectors went off due to cigarettes smoke?).||||Checking out was smooth though and this was the most pleasant part of our entire experience with this hotel.||||The only recommendation I have is to stay away from this place as far as you can. There are plenty of better options in Xi'an to...
