We had a really excellent stay at this great hotel for our Xiamen holiday. ||||We found the hotel to have a great room, great service, excellent dining experiences and always helpful associates who go out of their way to take care of the hotel guests. ||||The rooms are designed in a very modern way with natural materials, lots of wood and many bright beige and brown tones, a very calming and comforting setting. Housekeeping service was very good and timely, even though the hotel seemed to be quite busy every day. ||||Breakfast options were good and plentiful. The restaurant on the hotel ground floor is designed with an open-plan style, very accessible and welcoming. ||||Following some very mediocre experiences at other Hilton luxury properties during our holiday in China, this stay saved it all. ||||Particular thanks goes to the Duty Manager Candy who took excellent care of us from the moment we arrived and checked in up until our departure four days later. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she kindly helped us with several arrangements along the way with a great smile and a positive can-do attitude, e.g. transportation, F&B recommendations, local sightseeing advice etc...she is a credit to your organization and should be highly recognized for her excellent customer service skills and positivity. ||||One of the evenings we were stuck at the Lobby of the Conrad Xiamen and the staff there couldn't get us a taxi back to the Joyze Hotel for more than 45 minutes. The Conrad Bell team wasn't particularly helpful either, nor did they know about the Joyze Hotel. That was disappointing on part of the Conrad - we again contacted Candy to help us out and she got a Didi car organized for us to take us back to Joyze Hotel. ||||Duty Manager Kelvin was also very kind and helpful in showing us around the larger Suite rooms of the Joyze Hotel as we were looking for some options for an upcoming trip. ||||We found the hotel lunch experience at the all-day dining restaurant very good too, the very friendly Restaurant Manager explained to us that there is a new Head Chef. The chicken and beef dishes we ordered were super tasty and very nicely prepared (see attached food shot). ||||Thank you to the entire team here, we will be back and we are looking...
Read moreThis property is bit odd in a combination of several luxury and premium brand Hilton choices, and overall, would only recommend over the doubletree properties if you are not a Diamond member as like most Curios it lacks a lounge. ||Some of the previous reviews talked about an infinite pool (the reason I booked this place) and being able to see the ocean. Couldn't be further from the truth, in fact I am not sure any room can see the ocean as it's blocked by new residential and office towers. I'd also say that the bathroom facilities in the pool area and the pool itself are not being very well maintained. ||The other due note is that the breakfast here is fairly limited selection and just so so quality. ||On the positive size, this is the first curio I've been in China having been in others that actually qualifies as a premium boutique hotel. The design language of the room and lobby is different from the standard Hilton experience and actually quite nice. The lobby itself is pretty comfortable and well maintained. ||Outside that, the staff were pretty nice. ||I still think the property amongst the other Hilton options in Xiamen makes this property less than appealing considering it doesn't really offer a Beach front view or much of a tropical vibe atmosphere that some of the pool photos try to sell...
