New Century Grand Hotel Xuzhou — Hotel in Xuzhou

To classify this hotel and its style  it is not easy.|I was there fortunately for one night.|When I arrived close to midnight, there was a kind lady as a vallet that was waiting for me at the door, speaking in English. |Then check in, if my Chinese colleague was not helping me was a mess.|Even if book was confirmed directly by the hotel, there was no room available.|45 waiting time to have a room because the Staff was insisting in giving a smoking room.|The hotel is very big but without hearing system and is very cold.|It is not possible to change money at the desk and this could be a problem.|The room was big with a nice view on the lake.|Was clean, even if most of the stuff old and lot of parts damaged and not in good conditions.|The decoration of the room is a mix of modern pieces, Chinese pieces and contemporary art, result not clear at all.|The bed is long 1, 90 Mt,  therefore if you are taller than 1,80 your feet will stay out from the matrass.|The bathroom is nice even if lot of parts damaged, worn out and water taste us cloride.|The first worse thing is that the airconditioner is the noisest I have never experienced therefore I had to switch off to be able to sleep.|I tried to order for from room service but was not successful and choices are very few.|TV system and controller is all in Chiese and I was not able to watch TV. |A strange thing is that there are condom and sex toys dispenser any way in the room, toilet, toilet, etc.|Breakfast is disgusting there is not decent food.|Ratio between price and quality I'd very low (85 usd for one night Is out of the market).|Wifi: is not working at all, I tried with the Staff to make it work, but no way.|Suggested for 1 night maximum and bring food...

This is the best hotel so far that we are staying while we are in China. The hotel is just in the front of the beautiful lake. The room is very large and also with a balcony attach to it. they have everything you need in the room. we love their bathroom. all the basic necessity in the bathroom are available to use. Free WiFi as well and wish that they clean the room a little bit carefully. The best part is their super grand breakfast. you can get almost anything in chinese style breakfast. It is really amazing restaurant in this hotel. When we were there, it was very crowded due to the motorbike shows that middle of the week. i spent the second morning walking around the lake and went passed Xuzhou Performing Concert Hall(Lotus building) and well over to the other side of the lake. It was very pleasant walk and the scenery was great on the other side of the lake. There is a super great garden on the other edge of the lake. very...

For being where it is, it served its purpose, l am not sure l would call it memorable. The fact it is next to the lake it does elevate its status. Having a big entrance doesn't always mean it is better, but just tacky and noisy. The rooms are fine, considered luxury in some way, but just the fact that l took a non-smoking room, and there is an ashtray on the table, it just changes the perception immediately, TV is Chinese which is fine in the end, if you are not there to sit back and watch something, the balcony is ok and there is some panorama in the distance... which l have to share with the other hundreds of balconies facing me! l wasn't particularly impressed with breakfast either, again for being Chinese breakfast it was pretty good... but please if you mention the words western or continental then it is a joke... please start with a some clean cold water (which is not bottled by evian) and remove...
