I was booked there with some colleagues as logistically it will have been better to access where we had to go. We checked in late in the evening after a long day so we were happy to get there. From the outside the place is imposing but when you get it the huge lobby is empty and only 2 staff were there. We got our key and got to our room – the key cards did not worked so we had to get these redone but that is not an issue.|The room I was allocated was very large and apparently not bad but then few lights did not worked, the light on the desk was sparking at the wire level… so did not touch that one. Then when I get the bathroom the celling was full of watermarks the towel rail was rusty, the joint around the tub and in the shower was full of mildew and the bath tub was not draining. |Trying to get the TV on was also a bit of a challenge and neither to say that the lineup is not set for international travels. The internet connection was terrible more than slow even basic work emails were a challenge.|The bedding, coach, carpet were all stained (that might explain why I could not get all the lights on so I could not see all of them)|In the morning while I had the shower running a roach came out from the drain.|At breakfast I only eat the watermelon as the rest did not look too fresh and seeing the cook spitting in a bucket where they do the eggs did not really push me to taste a lot of what was offered.|So if you have to be in that part of the world may be worth to commute further to a hotel that is manage, run correctly. This hotel needs a major cleanup / renovation and some...

Rooms are large and spacious and very clean with lots of marble in the bathroom. They keep a number of floors smoke free which is great for me. Windows open so you can get some air. ||||Hotel breakfast is good for Western travelers but you can also have many classic Chinese dishes in the well stocked buffet which also has a to order grill. ||||TV is not very Western friendly. Staff is very gracious and always have had an English speaking agent checking me and a bell person that also...
Read moreI stay in Jiashan quite a lot as I have to visit many factories in this area. It states that its a 4 star hotel, I don't know how these ratings work but it feels more like a low 5 Star than 4. I have stayed at plenty of 4 Star hotels that are not as nice and even 5 star hotels that are far worse. That's not to say its the best Hotel around. If you're up for it there is a KTV Night club as part of the hotel complex its a fun night out (for Lads) Its not exactly in the centre of town so you can not really walk anywhere. Taxi's are cheap so thats...
