I went to China for business/leisure on August 14, 2016.
When I arrived at the hotel, the IHG reservation system was down. The staff did everything to accommodate my problems checking in. They were friendly, patient, and willing to help as much as they could. Even though it took thirty five minutes to check in (After a 40 hour flight schedule) I was pleased with the hotel.
It is typical of a lot of Holiday Inn Express Hotels. It is fairly new, modernly appointed and very comfortable. The lobby is a little small, but this is an economy hotel. and by those standards it was very good.
There was a fitness center with new equipment and all was very clean and pleasant.
The variety of the breakfast menu was a little sparse if you are an American, however, I did enjoy two over-hard eggs, toast and jam, a couple slices of ham and a roll. The coffee was good. No Juice, however. If you are a Chinese customer (as most of the patrons were) the selection was good. Many traditional Chinese breakfast items to choose from including soups, noodles, rice, Chinese sweet rolls, as well as some other bakery items. All seemed fresh and well prepared.
The biggest plus this hotel has to offer was the staff. They were helpful during a difficult check-in period and were always so kind and wore smiles every time I passed them at the desk or in the hall. I was very impressed by their helpfulness. They even arranged a shuttle to another IHG property for me several days later even though I was not booked at their property.
A local staff member named Michael was instrumental to getting me to my next stop and was so friendly and kind.
I would recommend this property for anyone who is looking for a good night's sleep. It is 10 minutes from the airport (perfect for a layover rest) and even though the facility is thirty minutes from downtown by car, the amenities and helpfulness of the staff more than made up for any deficiencies or...
Read moreThe room was smelly, the hotel staff at reception and restaurant spoke very poor English, after a long tired day when i check in at hotel at night, i expect to have a swift check in and find my bed, but it was tiring to talk to staff due to communication problem and confirm on my next day flight shuttle, thanks to a gentlemen who was another guest staying at hotel, who helped me at reception. The restaurant only had buffet option, no ala carte. At night i ran out of drinking water (2 bottles) in my room, and i asked for 2 more bottles, it's a general requirement and every hotel i have stayed so far has always provided it free of cost, but the hotel asked me to pay for it. They delivered 2 more bottles to my room with a charge of 5 CNY/bottle. I was in need, so i had to take it. Morning breakfast was basic but ok for a quick breakfast, the only good thing was the shuttle to airport. If not for airport location, the stay here was unpleasant otherwise. I hope IHG stands for it's brand and back them up to improve overall management and...
Read moreHad the worst experience when attempting to check out. After around 10+ minutes of standing around and extremly poor communication (we were the only people at the front desk and there were two staff working) we were then told that "the system was down" so they could not refund our bond (the room was prepaid but I had charged the bond to my credit card) so I then asked if I could just be refunded in Cash. This request was denied. I had a flight to catch and trying to communicate was extremely difficult however the real issue was that neither of the girls seemed to care that we were in a hurry to get to the airport. Ended up leaving without my refund so hopefully they have just refunded my card.
Would not reccomend staying here unless you factor in another 25 minutes to check out before heading off to...
