Gangcheng Hotel — Hotel in Zhoushan

Nice hotel in a small town. They have a western restaurant with good options for buffet lunch included in the room price. Had my dinner too at their western restaurant. The taste was good and they do have few options. The restaurant is open till late night so it's convenient. The hotel is frequented by foreigners however the staff couldn't speak english and used a mobile translator to communicate. The staff are courteous and helpful. This hotel is probably the best hotel on the island. The room are very nice and top modern and the hotel offers both a chinese restaurant and a pretty good western restaurant (the mushroom soup is super good). The hotel is located 5-10min walk from a small mall and 10min drive from the shipyard, where almost all the hotel guest are working. It is rated as a 5 star hotel but, it definitely shouldn't. Apart from the room cleanliness, lunch is not served in the hotel, the gym is small and barely equipped, no pool available, moderate laundry service, window frames leaking.
