This is our first time in Zhoushan and this trip was during the Chinese New Year family gathering in my wife’s hometown Jiangmen we want to explore new places. So we make a trip to Zhoushan for one and half day and one night getaway. Since I’m a Hilton Gold member I decided to stay in Hilton. |This time I find family and friends rate are little lower than GO Hilton team members rate. I choose my way benefits for breakfast as my wife wants to enjoy the full buffet breakfast. |During the checkin the front desk team was very helpful and nice. If I remember correctly his name was Hins and his colleague was Juno. |Next day during the breakfast I ordered a egg white with tomato and onion, the chef at the counter was very helpful, he even offered me to heat up the my omelette later as I picked up bit late after I make the order. Also the restaurant was cold 🥶 due to winter. ||We visit the area dedicated to travelers for shopping, local food, street foods and some historical sites. |I wanted to eat ice cream and found a stall selling ice cream 🍦 she was very talkative and she is from Taiwan 🇹🇼 settle in Zhoushan for 13 years. ||Me and my wife want to do a foot massage after a long day of walking around. So after dinner we go back to near Hilton. My wife find a spa nearby and the price is not cheap but acceptable. RMB175 for 80 minutes for head, shoulder, neck and back massage together with foot massage |The name of spa is “西禾里·影院足道·SPA馆(利和店)” this is Chinese name I don’t know the English name of this spa. But they promote as Thai Spa and treatments. |To be honest this is the worst experience that me and my wife had in recent years. |We both love spa and always try to have a day for spa. However this time we only wanted to enjoy just for foot massage. End up with disappointment. So we do not recommend this spa at all to any travelers |The therapist that I had seeps to be in rush to go somewhere. None stop talking. I personally don’t think she has any...
Read moreLet me start by saying that Hilton and some of the staff at Hilton Zhoushan have followed up on our disappointing experience to try to make amends: Thank you. It was a very disappointing stay, but I appreciate that our direct feedback was taken seriously, and that it prompted action.||||Perhaps we'd been spoiled too much by our excellent stays at other Hilton properties, but our expectations were high for this hotel, and unfortunately, we were let down.||||It was our first time staying here. As usual, one of the highlights of the year for us is to book a good hotel for December 31-January 1, both for New Year's Eve, and for a birthday. The price for this one night, even a month in advance, was quite high, but we were confident that it would be worth it. It was not!||||The hotel gave us an upgrade to an ocean-facing room, and gave us a birthday cake: Thank you.||||We didn't receive any communications before arrival ---||no warning that the swimming pool was closed (a key attraction for us); and no email about any room upgrade in advance (which we've always received in other Hilton properties). The "kids club" seems to only be a slide and trampoline, both seemingly closed, too. There was no indication of problems through the Hilton App, and no chat function to enable communication.||||Rude/unprofessional staff in the executive lounge.||||This was our first stay here, and will be the last. Usually, we would stay at DongQianLake Hilton, or the Ningbo DoubleTree hotels in Beilun or ChunXiao. The staff and experiences in those hotels had been exemplary. I am surprised at how bad the service quality here in Zhoushan Hilton is. We left the Sheraton (Zhoushan) to stay here: that was significantly cheaper and far better. What happened here? ||||I hope the folks at Hilton Zhoushan can address what are really staffing issues. It is a good location, with great potential to be an excellent venue. It would be a pity for this hotel...
Read moreWe had an excellent experience here as a 10th wedding anniversary getaway from Shanghai. The club lounge was accurately managed and the corner suite upgrade we received was amazing. Poor service at breakfast, but probably due to the local staff they are drawing from. It's a remote area and most people were quite young. After being an employer in China for over a decade, I know that new employees are often useless and unmotivated, so I was happy to see the management running staff drills and educating on the job while I was walking around the property.
The hotel is directly on the ocean, and has about 50 fresh seafood stalls along the promenade you can go for dinner, or a small shopping arcade behind with an excellent Japanese restaurant and a theatre with first run films.
Breakfast had many choices in the main buffet. The club lounge had a nice vibe, with a rotating selection of hot food and cold drinks. I noted quite a few Americans in the lounge every night, and spoke to some who said they live in the hotel often when on assignment from major USA firms that are involved in the region.
Behind the hotel is a lagoon with some restaurants, bars and cafes along the water. Not fully developed yet, but I can see that the government is working hard to make this a travel hotspot...
