I wasn’t thrilled to be staying in a Hampton by Hilton hotel while on business since my experience of this hotel chain in the UK has been very negative recently.|Exterior of this hotel send the distinct message that it’s’no frills’ but check in swift and a basic grasp of English among the reception staff. None of the dreadful ‘holding money’ on your credit card which is prevalent throughout China|My room was surprisingly big, huge really with both a fridge and a kettle. So far so good. The furnishings were simple but good quality bed linen and towels plus the marble shower room was stylish and spotlessly clean . Now to my first gripe. There was a small amount of hanging space for clothes but no drawers of any kind? This meant I had my entire three week wardrobe lined up on the shelf under the television.|This brings me to grip number two: the blasted television. I LOATHE tv and did not appreciate having to dive fir the remote every time I walked through the door as the Hilton promos blared out to greet me.|This hotel is very popular with families with young children due to its proximity to theme parks. This for me, as a business traveller, brought two problems. Noise being the biggest one. Every single night of my 5 night stay I was awoken after midnight by children racing, screaming down the corridors unchecked by their parents. Two nights it was mayhem in the room next to me with children screaming and running as well as the TV on full blast until 2.00am.|The same large families took over the tiny breakfast room, spilling their food and drink and generally creating mayhem. I much prefer business hotels fir this reason and their gentle approach to start the day.|Good service, clean and spacious...

Read moreWe had a terrible experience at Hampton by Hilton Zhuhai Cheng Feng Plaza during our stay from 27/1/24-28/1/24. To start with, there is a cockroach in the washroom. I would not expect to see this in a 4 star hotel. Also, there was facility maintenance IN THE CORRIDOR at 10 in the morning. Our travelling companions also had complaints about the scent of cigarettes in their room despite we all booked non-smoking rooms in the first place. Also the sound insulating effect of the walls were super bad. My friends complained about hearing a baby cry at 4am but the hotel couldn’t do anything about it (like a change of room). We were utterly disappointed by the facilities and contingency planning of this hotel and would like to recommend travellers to think twice...
