This was definitely our favorite place that we stayed at during our trip to Colombia. The family that owns this place was so welcoming and friendly. Even though my boyfriend and I did not speak Spanish, they were still so warm to us and accommodating. It sort of felt like a homestay but you still got privacy and space! The food that the woman (I feel so horrible for not remembering her name because she was so lovely!) cooked was our favorite that we had during our trip! The property itself is absolutely stunning that is right on the amazon river and the property has dogs, cats, chickens, rooster, and a turkey! We booked a couple tours through them and loved them and also got to meet the local people that way! Keep in mind that since this place is a bit off the grid, there is no wifi and a couple times the electricity shut off but we did not mind, it felt like a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of Leticia. I wish I could've expressed how much I appreciated their hospitality, I truly would recommend this place to anyone. Thank you for a wonderful stay! - Sarah and Robinson, USA

This place is such a heaven. When we wanted to see Amazonas, we dreamt to stay somewhere just like this. Relaxing place in the jungle full of amazing bird sounds. In the first day, white mouthed monkeys came to one of the trees close to the dining area. Zoraida, mom of Carlos was always there, reassuring and genial. All the kitchen staff was so helpful, every meal was so filling and delicious. Carlos was very helpful and thoughtful all the time. He gave many information about the area and made a reservation of ferry to Leticia for us beforehand. The place was very clean, they were cleaning the areas very often. We found the place a lot more comforting than expected for such a jungle stay. In our stay of two days, we arranged two tours with them, Danny was our guide, he was such a nice and kind person with full of information and he was really good at understanding the soul of Amazonas nature. I can’t recommend enough! I wish I could live there for some time.

Soraya and Carlos were great hosts. We had a wonderfull time here. They took great care of us. They made the reservations for the boat from Leticia to Puerto Narino and they picked us up from there to Eware with their own little boat. They also had a vegetarian lunch option. Great tours on which we saw kaimans, sloths, birds, tarantula’s, grey and pink dolphins. Great refreshing pool and shadow provided around the pool. We even saw monkeys besides the pool in the trees. Simple room and no hot shower as it is located in the jungle. But with the hot temperatures, this was no problem. No hot showers is also very common in Colombia.

GOOD||* Zoraida is most warm-hearted and welcoming, she is taking great care of her guests.|* The property is beautifully maintained, the view from Eware‘s own mirador is breathtaking especially during dawn and dusk.|* Rooms are spacious and clean.|* Zoraida will organise any tour you like (even on short notice) and gives great suggestions, alterations are possible „on-the-go“.|* Avelino is a fantastic tour guide, who knows the jungle inside and out, takes great care of his group and makes it known that it is his responsibility to keep you safe. Doing the caiman tour with him in the evening is an absolute MUST, the lights and atmosphere are unparalleled.||Make sure to bring sufficient cash (you should budget approx. 200k COP all-in per person per day). At least if you want to take advantage of the many great tours you can do starting from Eware Refugio. Leticia is the last opportunity to use an ATM, and you can’t pay anything by card beyond this point.|Also, be prepared to not access the internet or have any mobile signal during your time in the Amazon.|Hint: bring some earplugs. The sun rises very early in the Amazon and all the animals, especially birds start singing even earlier, hence it might be challenging to sleep after 0600....
