I stayed at this hotel as I had a one night layover with an early morning flight. The great attraction was the price and not having to pay a taxi to stay overnight in Medellin. The pickup was great and the hotel is a short 8-10 min drive from the airport. The hotel is only on year old and everything is in great shape. The check-in went smoothly even with the language difference as they have a translator on the computer when you check in. The clerk that checked me in was great and in fact she ended up humping my bag up to my room and then later was my waitress for the two meals I had. The hotel was not busy but the owner told me that they do a good business on the weekends with buffet lunches etc. Wake up call and shuttle back t the airport went very smoothly. Meals were moderately priced and the beers at the bar were the cheapest I had in Colombia ||This hotel is good for layovers when you arrive late and if you have an early morning flight. There does not seem to be a lot of things to do but the owner was telling me that he has been building some cottages nearby for groups that want that country...
Read moreI'll start with the good things about my experience here: The airport transfers were fast and efficient and the food from the restaurant was decent, but that's about where it ended.||The room, while presenting well on the surface, had stained sheets and broken\missing door knobs. I couldn't bring myself to sleep in the main bed given the state of the sheets and resorted to sleeping in the single bed in the front of the room. The front door also has a clear glass panel, allowing anyone to peak through into one of the sleeping quarters. To top this off, despite it being a Saturday night and having a bar in the restaurant, we were told they couldn't serve us drinks as the person who does that wasn't working that day. I also should have taken the 2 complimentary condoms on the welcome tray in the room as a sign of things to come that night.... as I was welcomed back to my room after dinner with hearing the antics of the three people in the room next door through the paper thin walls for the...
Read moreJust 5 hours before our reservation we were notified that the hotel had no water and was not able to house anyone. We were only supposed to stay for one night due to a connecting flight, and asked if we could stay even if the water was off. The staff was rude and unprofessional every step of the way. Hotels should always have emergency plans in place to rehouse their patrons if something like this were to happen. The next morning we contacted the boss of Hollywood Paradise to express our dissatisfaction with the hotel, and all he had to say was that he didn’t care, and the hotel still had the most nights sold in all of Medellin. He also stated that we were notified 24 hours before our reservation, which is a blatant lie. Due to their lack of planning, we had to return to the airport and spend the night there. Avoid booking here at all costs, there are plenty of hotels close to the airport with far...
