Casa Agua Vela Hostal — Hotel in Atlántico

I was about to stay for 3 days but ended up staying the whole week. Just didn't want to leave. ||The hostel is beautiful and has a stunning view.||The pool is very clean and relaxed.||The rooms are just fine. The have a dorm and a few rooms with 2 or 3 beds. The bed linnen is spotless white and the beds are okay. ||The kitchen can be used for some cooking for yourself. ||Breakfast in the morning is great with fresh juices, home made marmelade (really delicious), scrambled eggs and freshly baked arepas. What more do you want?||The spot is aboyt 5-10 min by car, but don't worry the hostel provides the service of taking you there. ||And they have 2 lovely australian shephards to complete the feeling of being home far away..||I honestly can say this was the nicest place I stayed while being...

We stayed at this casa for the second time..for several reasons: Zaira and Romain are really friendly hosts: you feel really at home, but they are not overwhelming or in your face. We had the double room with private bathroom (cant live without) so hotel feeling, but you still have the positive side of a hostal: joint dinners and Beers if you want and lots of cosiness. Casa aqua vela is out favorite place to be! Santa Veronica is a kiters paradise (check out puerto verlero for flat water) and the 5 min drive salines del rey. Don't have a car? Romain gives you a ride. I am actually not a kiter (girlfriend of) and loved the places. Don't expert Sandy white beaches, st Veronica is not that kind of paradise. Take a towel and a book...

Came through to kite surf at Salinas Del Rey and Puerto Valero. Wonderful people here. Roman and Zaira are incredible hosts and the accommodations were perfect for us: WiFi is a little slow but consistent. There weren’t many bugs while we were here but there’s nets if you like. Always fresh fruit, juice, coffee, arepas/pancakes in the morning and the pool was a welcome escape from the heat.||We also got a lot of help organizing transportation to various places. Cars to Cartagena/Barranquilla/Totumo Volcano — Tuk Tuks to the town of Juan de Acosta where you can hit a pharmacy/atm/supermarket etc. — Roman also delivered everybody who wanted to go to the beaches in his truck every day (wow).||All in all a great place.
