The recently inaugurated Hotel Isla Verde is located on the Caribbean beach area between the internationally renown tourist attraction of Cartagena and the burgeoning business capital of Barranquilla. First class installations, horizon pool, great restaurant with true gourmet cooking, breathtaking view of the ocean, botanical gardens and sports facilities of all kinds have rapidly placed the Hotel Isla Verde at the head of the list of most sought after vacation resorts in the area. The staff is courteous, well trained, helpful, if a little young and still in the training process. We were going to stay initially for one night, but decided to prolong our stay as the tranquil, spacious beaches and pool area worked their magic on us. A forty minute drive from the famous tourist attraction of Cartagena, and forty to the modern, bustling city of Barranquilla, it is ideal for those seeking a peaceful oasis between visits to both Caribbean cities. Read moreWe visited the restaurant on December 31st with my family in a group of 13 people, including several elderly people and two 90+ Grandmas with very limited mobility. We were a group visiting from all over the world. The customer service from the receptionist Marlen Nuñez was incredibly rude and impolite. This lady decided to inform us that they were not providing service to the public, the service was just for the guests of the hotel, after seeing all the logistics required to move the people into de restaurant, the very helpful waiters laid the table and handled the menu. Afterwards while laughing and seeing us moving our Grandmas, she sent us to a nearby restaurant with total disregard of any disability condition in the group or elder people care approach. Very...
Read moreLuckily we stayed at this so called hotel for only one night. One piece of advice don’t stay here! The place is more like a hostel, with rooms not available for check in and guests organising parties in the rooms with no one from the hotel taking responsibility. Food is very mediocre, A good thing is the access to a decent beach and nature around, Although hotel plastic free chairs or parasoles were not available until late morning on the beach.Poole area is not bad but stank drains! The only good service was from some of the bar guys who were very helpful and decent, completely opposite to the rude women manning the reception. In one word, TERRIBLE experience and still amazed this place is allowed to be considered as hotel and to...
