Hotel 56 Avenue — Hotel in Barranquilla

If you are a foreigner do not go to this hotel. They charge you the VAT when it is illegal and when you discover the tram they tell you that it is imposed on tourism (it does not exist in Colombia). I booked through Booking and they clearly put charges for paying VAT (attached capture). The most amazing thing is that the previous day I had called to confirm that the situation with the VAT was what I said and they confirmed that I was right. Sorry accommodation for and for mobsters. Service is amazing, they're very kind and helpful! They even prepared Agua de Panela for me on the house , which is delicious. Price relation is good. The rooms are in good shape as the hotel is pretty new, wifi connection is perfect and breakfast is included (with Colombian coffee). They help you get transportation and fair taxi prices. The neighbourhood is not the best to be honest, but there's no need to be walking around it so as long as you take a taxi or Uber in and out of there you're good. The bed is a bit stiff and there's no hot water, but considering the very humid weather of Barranquilla you don't really need it. Shampoo, soap and towel are...

Je n’ai rien connu de pire en Colombie 🇨🇴 ||Nous avons séjourner ici pendant le Carnaval car évidemment les hôtels plus centraux étaient déjà pleins. Le quartier est glauque, ça ne donne vraiment pas envie de sortir se balader ou de quitter l’hôtel autrement qu’en taxi. Les lits sont durs comme de la pierre autant dormir par terre. Nous avons séjourner avec des copines dans une chambre pour 4 qui a l’air jolie vue en photo et qui est décorée de façon moderne. Malheureusement, la porte ferme à peine donc elle claque au moindre coup de vent (bruit toute la nuit), il n’y a pas de fenêtre sur l’extérieur donc on se croirait dans une cave, les seules petites fenêtres donnent sur le couloir. Tout est très mal insonorisé donc on entend les gens parler et quand je dis les gens je veux bien parler du personnel de l’hôtel qui ne se soucie pas tellement du sommeil de ses guests car parle fort jusqu’à pas d’heure et tôt le matin, des chiens aboient bref... rien ne va. Pour couronner le tout, le robinet et la douche n’ont pas de chaleur réglable donc c’est douche à l’eau froide, à l’entrée l’accueil se fait derrière une vitre, on n’en sort pas même si on ne les entend pas bien (à croire que trois petites femmes blanches ça fait peeeeeur!) cela n’aide pas à instaurer un climat où l’on se sente bien et en sécurité. Le pompom? Le petit déjeuner dégoûtant 2 toast brûlés et des œufs brouillée qu’on vous amène avec de la saucisse même si vous avez préciser 3x que vous étiez végétarienne, un jus d’orange qui n’en est pas un... bref... ne venez ici sous...
