Hotel Termales El Batan — Hotel in Boyacá

Sweeping willows, mountain views, bird song, hot thermal waters just in the garden outside your room, good restaurant! This was great for relaxing. We soaked in the hot water after mountain walks and then retreated to our suite with chimney and king sized bed - perfect descanso! The upgrade to suite from standard room was only about 40.000 (during low season at least) - and it was well worth it. We sat by the fire with drinks until late and the next morning enjoyed the very generous breakfast. During low season and during a pandemic, we almost had the place to ourselves. The public/day visitors' thermal pool is separated from the hotel garden and pools, so it was extra peaceful. All seemed super clean, well-maintained and cared for! Baby/kids' pool separate from adult/deeper pool and all is kids' safe with fences/nets/safety gates - a great place...

Amazing location tucked away in the mountains with beautiful trees and flowers. The pool reserved for hotel guests is large and never felt crowded, and we loved swimming at night. The steam room was great. The restaurant had a good sized menu and several vegetarian options. Lago Tota is nearby and it a must see attraction if you're in the area. It's a great weekend getaway! ||||The only con: The buildings are little old and are built in a traditional style, so If you are tall, request a room on the first floor to make sure you have enough space! I'm 5'9" and my dad is over 6 feet (182 cm) and in our second floor rooms, which were attic style, we hit our heads on the door frames a few times. We know we are tall for Colombian architecture but maybe someone else can benefit from this information! We still enjoyed everything...

I strongly recommend this Hotel and its thermal infrastructures, excellent from any perspective. ||I spend 4 days few mounts ago (low season) and I was positively surprised by the quality and the service. ||Actually, the advertising in TripAdvisor is not able to give the real genuine perception of this thermal center.||||Positive factors: Appropriate price, excellent infrastructure, and good service.
