Hotel Playa Palmeras Cartagena — Hotel in Cartagena

Everyone's experiences are different, in my case, we, my wife, my cat and I, had a wonderful stay. The whole area is a private property, there many empty areas and to get to the hotel you need to pass through the main entrance where there is a security guard who takes some data from you, which means that the place is safe. From that entrance the hotel is 1 kilometer towards the sea and there are more hotels and private cottages. In the hotel, rooms are very big and beds are really comfortable. The view from the balconies is awesome, the sea can be seen from there. We had breakfast (which was included in the booking) and it was very delicious, we had eggs, bread and hot chocolate, also you can have fruit, yogurt, cereal and coffee in the buffet. The pool is big and staff keep it clean. The beach is 3 minutes walking and it is beautiful, the transparency of the sea water is the best I have seen and the best of all, due to you are in a private property, it is empty most of the time, the sea and the beach is all yours. This hotel is the perfect place in the case that you want to have a rest from crowds. The staff of the hotel is very kind and helpful, we did not have any problem at all during our stay. Just one advice, if you want to visit places in Cartagena, this hotel is not convenient because it is 29 kilometers away from the city, unless you rent or own a car, it will be hard for you to commute from the hotel...

Hope you read this review properly to decide what you want to do with this hotel. Location is REALLY BAD Rooms were good quality but I was not impressed with hard water from the taps that tasted yuck even to brush your teeth. No hot water which seems to be the trend in Cartagena. But you would expect better from a Resort hotel. The cleaners were cleaning the pool every morning yet it was not super clean. Breakfast first morning was not standard. 2nd morning they laid it out so was much better. Service was good but did I mention the location. Absolutely pathetic location. Not one taxi or Uber driver is willing to come here. It is simply too far away, not to mention it is outside Cartagena so you have to pay toll every time you enter or leave the city. The drivers keep asking for more money and it is endless negotiation. I would stay away from this hotel, unless you drive your own car and don’t mind the pathetic yucky hard water taste. I feel sad putting this review for the staff who provide good service but the hotel is not good. Nunca he subido una review, pero esto lo hago por gente como yo que creemos en estas reviews. Si pudiera ponerle 0 se lo pondría. Este hotel no merece ni media estrella.

El hotel no solo queda super lejos de cartagena, cada trayecto hacia el hotel cuesta 120,000 pesos col si no que casi nadie pensante quiere llevarte allá. La entrada es llena de terrenos baldíos y te sientes super insegura. Desde la recepción sabia que todo iba a estar mal, el personal es un desastre y nadie sabe lo que hace.

Las reviews me llenaron de frustración porque no puedo creer que alguien pueda mentir tanto. Son todo lo opuesto a lo que es el hotel. El hotel da pena, todo el camino a las habitaciones tiene pintura y polvo, parece en obra gris. El internet es pésimo. Las habitaciones huelen mal y tienen una pésima vista, la vista es hacia una choza del hotel, y ponen música que solo les gusta a los trabajadores del hotel a todo volumen. El hotel es super pequeño, no hay por donde caminar. Lo peor es su restaurante, la comida es horrible y las porciones son mínimas. Al sentarte a esperar solo escuchas a viejas riéndose en la cocina sin hacer nada, se demoran 2 horas en prepararte algo a pesar de que el hotel este solo. La calidad de los productos es pésima, el pescado no es fresco y en el desayuno si el hotel no esta lleno las opciones son super limitadas,

La playa no es lo que dicen, ni es linda ni es cerca, queda super lejos del hotel, toca caminar por terrenos baldíos de casas en construcción llena de obreros.

En conclusión apesar de que ya había pagado 6 dias, preferí perder ese dinero y pagar una estadía en un airbnb, 100,000 veces mejor. Ojalá hubiera visto una review sincera y no las reviews de los trabajadores del hotel y ya. Porfavor NO Tengan en cuenta todo lo bueno que dicen porque nada pero nada es cierto, no hay nada que rescatar de esto.
