Pop Art Hotel CLC Mamonal — Hotel in Cartagena

If you are looking for a high-bang-for-the-buck hotel this is it. I came to Cartagena for some dental (which also highly recommend) and wasn't sure what I would find when I got here. Ive read so many horror stories of rooms without AC in summer, beds that were 30 years old, sheets that were thread bare etc, that I was a little nervous. But when I got here, I found my AC worked just fine, my room was presentable with a small refrig, TV, phone, and other amenities. The staff was very helpful and friendly and honest. I left a dollar tip on my pillow one day for the cleaning lady and put it on the dresser thinking it had just fallen there. The buffet breakfast isn't fancy but it is certainly good enough and I particularly like the OJ. It tastes like fresh squeezed. The room are clean, safe, and quiet. I never had to worry about someone breaking into my room and stealing my computer - something that happened to a friend of mine in Cambodia. The staff is friendly and honest. I left a dollar tip for the cleaning lady and she left it by the bed stand thinking I had forgotten it. My room is clean, the bed is firm and has good sheets on it, the AC works perfectly. The free breakfast isn't fancy but good enough. It looks like they have fresh squeezed OJ which I like. Dinner in the hotel restaurant is another story. Got some fried fish which was nasty. It had that sickly sweet street vendor flavor and was a little expensive. WIsh the hotel was closer to Manga or Boca Grande but that would drive up the cost. Es un hotel con ímpetu de moderno pero que al final se queda muy corto, para iniciar llegue con un compañero de trabajo a realizar varias diligencias en el sector del puerto, en la llegada tuvimos que esperar por q la recepción estaban ocupados en su tertulia y no podían revisar la reserva, ya cuando pudieron atendernos empezó el dolor de cabeza, el primer día mientras para pasar el tiempo mientras nos organizábamos visitamos el GYM, muy descuidado y peligroso para alguien que hace ejercicio en serio, más tarde ese día la chapa de la puerta se trabó tuvimos casi 1 hora esperando en el restaurante. Eso si depues del primer día el cobro irrespetuoso por el pago de la noche, es normal pero no es el modo, reitero “donde está lo moderno si piden pago con tarjeta?? Se supone que todo lo van cargando y al final se descuenta de esta, durante las 3 noches que tengo acá en este hotel todo a sido pésimo nos han tratado como ladrones, nos han tomado el pelo para unas toallas las tuvimos que pedir más de 5 veces y llegaron a dia siguiente en la mañana, reiterativo el cobro en recepción delante de otros huéspedes, incluso tuve que ver como un huésped de ciudadanía americana hacía un reclamo por que su comida nunca llegó, luego lo encontramos comiendo en la estación de servicio de enfrente muy molesto nos comenta que está en el hotel por simple obligación. En fin ahora que realizo esta reseña es la última noche qué pasó acá, aburrido en la habitación, la TV no sirven los canales desde el día q llegamos, la nevera es de lujo y las bebidas se calentaron, y en fin la estadía estuvo muy desagradable, cabe resaltar que antes de escribir esta reseña me tome el tiempo de leer y cada vez aumenta el nivel de molestia por parte de los huéspedes. En lo personal me retiro del hotel, muy descontento y esperando no volver nunca, la trufa es carísima y el servicio es muy regular.
