This place was awesome!!!!!! Such a unique experience that I highly recommend staying at when booking a trip to Medellín/Cocorna. The beds were super comfortable and you truly do unwind and relax. The view from the restaurant is unreal and the staff was super accommodating. This was my favorite part of our trip and that's because of the amazing ambiance of this place along with paragliding off a mountain (we used Aventura Cocorná).
A couple of things to know before you go: we had a tiny rental car - the road to the ecohotel was a bit rough for us - so just know that before going. We were fine - but once we were there we didn't want to move our car, but the woman at the front desk helped us arrange a taxi to pick us up and take us to activities. This was NOT a deal breaker and I still LOVED staying here.
Something that was unique to us (and maybe bc we are from a different country) was you have to book your meals a meal in advanced. For example, when eating breakfast you have to order lunch. I think this is because they are trying to reduce waste. The food however was super good!
Mixed drinks do take awhile to make - but that is because they are making them all from one bar and the campus is pretty large.
My husband and I loved staying here and highly recommend it! We loved hearing the water at night and sitting in the hot tubs. Such a romantic stay and I wish this place and their staff all...
Read moreI experienced issues contacting the hotel directly, so here is a tip: They communicate mostly through Whatsapp (very common practice in all businesses in Colombia) +57 301 7414199, do not call this number as it's only for Whatsapp. I recommend to look on the main website for the packages and then contact the hotel directly to make reservations. ||- The bungalows are amaizing! with open ceiling showers and comfortable beds, we stayed at "Luna" which has no glass windows but good blackouts, the sound of the running water at night creates the best environment for a great night sleep. ||- I recommend to book the tour hike (complementary with the packages), attend the night bonfire, morning yoga class and enjoy the hot and cold tubs. ||- The food is healthy and well prepared, they also have a small store by the pool with drinks, snacks and yummy organic ice cream pops. ||- Once you make it to town, the 15 mins uphill road to the Hotel is rough! but is not for too long and it's totally worth it. ||||I want to thank Daniel specially for providing us with the best customer service. ||||Follow the hotel on IG: ecohotel_tierradeagua and...
Read moreDisappointed. A friend told us this was a great place and that the food was delicious. The surrounding nature is indeed magical and the cabañas are pretty, the massage was great and rhe people friendly but it doesn't live up to expectations. To get there we had to drive our little golf up a very steep and unpaved road. So difficult you actually never want to go down to the pueblo again before you leave. The cabaña was fairly clean but no space to put clothes away, so you have to live out of you suitcase. Bathroom quite uncomfortable outside the cabin with wobbly rocks to stand on. For a hot shower you have to almost close the faucet. The pool was too cold to swim in and the hot tubs were only hot the first day. The safe in rhe room didn't work because they lost the keys. But the worst was the food. Apparently they used to have a great cook who left and now the quality is downright bad: unedibly hard pancakes at breakfast, awfully watery ceviche from the freezer, cold tasteless soup, a Sicilian pizza without anchovies nor capers and a ton of greasy cheese on top... I could go on. The place has great potential but needs a lot of...
