This trip was recommended and organized by Bogoto Birding as a birding trip. And that recommendation was totally wrong as it is not really a place to see a whole lot of species. It can be a place for some targeted species like Tapaculos or Antpittas (both of which are difficult to photograph or see). I wouldn't recommend this place for birdwatching (this is from someone who has photographed 2700 species). I am not going to use Bogota Birding ever again.
The park itself is very picturesque and filled with unique flora. The trails at Monte Redondo are very well maintained by the National Park Service and the buildings and campsites have very good design sense.
However, Corpochingaza and their vendor that manages the lodge there, are the worst I have seen. Nothing comes close. First, you have to haul your roller suitcase uphill on gravel road (quarter mile) to the A-frame cabin and then find that there is no water in the toilet/shower. We insisted that they provide a bucket of water so that we can flush the toilet, which they did reluctantly! No brushing of our teeth, no shower, no shaving and we were eager to get out of the place next morning. What a shame that well built facilities are mismanaged so much by Corpochingaza. Absolutely, not recommended to stay...

The kids playground was none, there are a lot of fallen trees, and it is very far away. Also the road is in bad shape and there is no signs to tell you where are you going. Maybe in a Decade...
