where can I start... Well, we call in to see if they have rooms available for a group of 21. The person who took the phone call (Jesus) try to accommodate the party but he failed to organized the rooms per family etc he heard the total amount and his eyes and ears got pretty big. I never discussed a discount or anything like that he gave me a price and I said give me an hour and I will confirm but most likely I will take it. 34 minutes went by and I showed up at the hotel. I have mentioned my conversation to the lady at the front desk and she said hold on let me try to find your reservation. So far we were doing great a big group at the front desk waiting to be check-in during pandemic times nothing wrong with that I guess. a few minutes later she calls me and said we found your reservation, I was happy she told me the amount and this had to be paid even before we step past the lobby. I found it odd but I said I'm in a different country and things might be different here than in the United States. Oh, boy was I wrong. After payment went through here is where everything went south in a hurry. they started asking for names and IDs normal procedures and they were accommodating people at their wish. We were giving us rooms based on people and no how the rooms were set up. We didn't have keys we have to walk and meet someone to open the doors for us. at this point, every family member were walking together so the first rooms were fine as families were together after the 5th room here is where the big problem occurred. My kids 6, 10, 11 were supposed to stay by themselves in a room without an adult. I asked this can happened and they told me you MUST take the room. That's all we have. I said unfortunately I can't do this. The lady said you have 4 rooms left with no doors connecting these rooms. I said we are only 4 left and those were two couples so we need just an extra room that's it.
so I went back to the front desk and explained to the lady there what was the issue. She was very rude and told me that was the only thing available. Keep in mind this went over for three hours after we got there. Finally, they miraculously found a room (what the call a suite) an upper room from what we have but in reality, it wasn't we have 3 kids (1 girl and two boys) my wife and I. If you do the math we need at least 4 beds. but not this upgraded room only had 3 beds and at this point, I didn't want to go to the front desk anymore as I was tired of dealing with nonsense.
The supervisor there told me I'm giving you a jacuzzi at no cost, which I said to her I'm returning 3 rooms at a very high cost to you to rent again. Just do the math and you will see how much money I'm giving you. she stared like she didn't care she wants me to be happy with a Jacuzzi that was dirty and it was inviting at all. (we never used)
So when we thought all our issues were squared away oh boy we were wrong for the second time. When the sunset and we turn the lights we have a strobe light in our room that was very unpleasant. we called the front desk and she said she will send one. After an hour and half I called again and the lady told me the maintenance person was gone for the day and he can do it first thing in the morning. I wasn't happy but i said "ok", I will wait then. here goes our second day on a 4 day stay the maintenance person never showed up, the people who clean the room came after 4:00 PM and I asked have you seem the person who does maintenance and they said everyone is busy today. Wasn't the answer I was hoping for but I guess for the hotel standards I guess was the best answer. I went to the front desk yet again and I spoke with the same lady that was there for our check-in (she gives me the look) I said listen I have a situation I explained and 30 minutes later a person showed up with a ladder and fixed the light the time...
Read moreFirst time at this hotel. Service was great. Had a great time at new year. With a party at the gran Chalan. Beautiful horse show. Wonderful dinner. Live music. Fireworks show. Champaign... Great families enjoying together. We will be back for sure. The price is worth for everything they offer. They even give us transportation to the gran Chalan. It is in front of the hotel, however you have to cross the road. Pools are great. They offer a walk through the property with beautiful trees, birds and they even have farm tilapia. We received all the meals with everything fresh. The spectacular view they have in front of the hotel to the Quinini mountains is so relaxing and calming. We will try the glamping they offer next time to wake up with this view... I highly recommend this hotel if you are...
