Hostal El Ruby — Hotel in Huila

En español abajo. I think the rooms are a bit too expensive. Unfortunately I had some trouble with the hostel. I asked to times for the bus schedule for going back to Bogota. They told me there are two buses at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. The first lie was that there is no bus at 10:30. The second was, that there are actually no buses, just very small Collectivos. If they are full, they won't take you. There are also no Taxis in this village. Back in the hostel, nobody could help me, as the owner wasn't there, just his little niece. She suggested me to wait for the bus at 2 p.m., while I have already waited two hours for nothing at the street. So I organized by myself to go back to the highway in Pata, from there I had to hitchhike back to Bogota. Which is obviously not the best idea, when you are a single travelling gringa! So better go to a hostel in Villavijea and avoid this place.

Creo que las habitaciones son un poco caras. Desafortunadamente, terminé teniendo bastantes problemas con el hostal. Pregunté dos veces cuándo sale el bus porque tenía que regresar a Bogotá. Se dijo que los autobuses saldrían a las 10:30 y 11:30 de La Victoria. La primera mentira es que viene un autobús a las 10:30. La segunda, que no hay autobuses en absoluto, sino pequeños colectivos y si están llenos, no tienes suerte. En el hostal nadie me pudo ayudar porque no estaba el dueño, solo su sobrinita. Dijo que podía tomar el autobús de las 2:00 p. m. después de esperar dos horas en la calle. Allí tampoco hay taxis. Así que volví a la carretera de Pata y tuve que hacer autostop hasta Bogotá. I hope for them the best. Given the socio demographic of the area, they've done amazing to provide a safe, clean and comfortable. I only see tourism increasing to this...

Buen sitio, buena atención, dentro del hostal... Pero PÉSIMO BOOKING!! La chica te miente por teléfono sobre la distancia al desierto y aun más grave sobre los tours y precios. Yo tuve que pagar todos mis tours y trasportes en el desierto por aparte y me salió el triple de costoso de lo que la chica me había anunciado por teléfono.
