I wanted to share our experience as a warning to other guests to book this hotel at your own risk. We had a reservation here and confirmed earlier that day via an email exchange with the hotel that we would be arriving around 6/6:30 PM. They replied to say they looked forward to receiving us. Unfortunately, due to unexpected local protests and roadblocks—including fires set on the road—we were delayed and didn’t arrive until 8:30PM. We attempted to call the hotel before their 7:00PM check-in cutoff, but the number provided did not work. I sent a message before 7PM to inform them of our delay. When we arrived, the property was completely dark, with no lights, no staff, and no way to access the premises. Another couple was also there, trying to check in. Thankfully, we had asked our taxi driver to wait, but with no one around and no communication from the hotel, we had no choice but to leave and return to Santa Marta (45mins away). It was simply unsafe to stay outside in such a remote location. The next day we were informed by the hotel that they had lost electricity, which was why they could not communicate —apparently a regular occurrence in the area. Yet, no warning was ever given about this, either in advance or that morning when we had spoken. We know from the protests that this had been ongoing for 5days. Even more concerning, despite our message and email that morning confirming our arrival, the hotel made no effort to wait even one hour past check-in to receive us (or their other guests) knowing full well how isolated their location is. This was an extremely disappointing and stressful experience. I strongly advise future guests to think twice before booking unless the hotel improves its communication and support. Being left stranded in the dark, with no way to access your accommodation, is simply unacceptable. If it hadn’t been for our taxi driver we would have been stranded with no phone signal, no room and no where to sleep. The following day we did receive a very weak apology justifying their position and stating that they didn’t think we were coming, despite receiving confirmation from us that morning, which...

Read moreHi, we had a not so good experience with your hotel and we wanted to share. We arrived at the hotel with quite a few expectations, but there were quite a few disappointments and strange behavior. First of all, we arrived at the hotel relatively late (around 11 in the evening). The hotel was in complete darkness, there is no reception in the place so there was no one to talk to. We knocked on the door of the hotel that looked like it belonged to employees, we woke up a guy named Jesus who turns out to be the cook of the place (only good words about him) who explained that there was no electricity and there was no indication when it would return. Beyond the bad experience of arriving at a hotel without electricity after a long day of travel, there was a frustrating feeling of not being able to get a response. The reception is open until 6:30 in the evening only from 10 in the morning. We went on a two-day trip to Tayrona Park, when we left our luggage at the hotel until we returned, when we arrived again the hotel looked deserted and again only Jesus from the beginning of my review answered us. We wanted to order a taxi, but Jesus pointed out that there was no electricity or water all day and There is no cellular reception either. That's why he told us to catch a bus to Santa Marta and from there get a taxi to where we need to go. Of course there was no one at the reception or from the hotel to answer us... being able to help a guest order a taxi is a basic thing. In short, although electricity, cellular reception, etc., are not things that depend on the hotel, we left with the awful feeling that the hotel does not even try to respond and treat customers alongside very significant...
