I had the pleasure of staying at La Ofelia and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed by the owners Javier and Esperanza, who made me feel at home right away.
The house itself is a stunning example of rustic charm, nestled in the heart of nature. The natural surroundings are simply breathtaking and the peace and quiet of the area was just what I needed to relax and unwind. The house is cozy, clean, and well-appointed, with all the amenities you could want for a comfortable stay.
But the real stars of the show were the two resident dogs, Paka and Polo. These lovable pups quickly became my constant companions during my stay, and their playful personalities and affectionate nature made me feel like I had my own furry friends by my side.
And let's not forget about the food - Esperanza is an incredible cook! Her meals were a highlight of my stay, with every dish bursting with flavor and made with love. The fresh ingredients and homemade touches made every meal feel like a special occasion.
Overall, I would highly recommend La Ofelia to anyone looking for a relaxing and authentic escape into nature. The hospitality of Javier and Esperanza, combined with the beauty of the surroundings and the company of the lovable Paka and Polo, make this a truly special...
Read moreAmazing place far away from everyone. It's a bit of a walk from the main road but so worth it when you get to the place. You feel so at home when getting there and you get freshly squeezed juice/smoothie every time you get back from a day out.
Diverse and tasty meals are served every day and you can enjoy that meal while the humming birds are flying just a few feet away. Wifi was installed when we where there so you can share all those beautiful moments from the jungle. Animals in all shapes and sizes are around so if that's not for you then you might need to reconsider. Two sweet dogs and a cat will keep you safe though ;)
I highly recommend this place if you need a new experience and in need of some peace...
Read moreWe stayed with Javier and Ingressa for two nights. We got to know Javier as he is the friend of a friend of a friend - even though the connection is rather remote, we were welcomed very very lovely and forthcomingly. Ingressa conjured up some fantastic meals and delicious breakfast. The lodge consists of three rooms (NB: noise travels easily between the walls) and in order to get there, you need to walk about 1km from the highway. Heavy luggage is carried by Javier's donkey - so fear not! Ingressa also gave us a tour of the farm and showed us what plants and trees are being cultivated on it. The location feels very remote and has lovely views but as so often: it is the people who really make a stay memorable....
