Reserved based on the photos were not disappointed at all.
Stayed four nights and could have stayed several more days!
Staff (esp Maria and Natasha) were helpful with a tasty breakfast of eggs, fresh fruit, locally sourced bread and butter and juice. There were fresh flowers on each table in the open air breakfast dining area
The room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, the wifi worked.
The pool has a fountain that adds to the charm-- we hung out at night with added music. The LED lighting added to set mood and atmosphere.
For us we planned one major event for the morning, an early afternoon meal and then the rest of the time relaxing at the lodge. (We relied on the commuter bus or local motorcycle/taxi. Their website is extensive, but I found it overwhelming. My suggestion to Dean would be a Top Ten list of best activities, contact person, rate level of difficulty (walking terrain, riding motorcycle, etc).
We were there to relax and have fun experiences but the setting and facilities for a wedding or special occasion would be terrific. The personal attention of staff made us feel like we were nobility.
Words of Wisdom: The owner (Dean) told us to exchange currency AT THE AIRPORT (which in my experience is the worst exchange place!) however in Barranquilla or Santa Marta it was (for us) the ONLY place! (in other words --- exchange currency AT THE AIRPORT) -- YOU HAVE...
Read moreIf I could give this place 100 stars, I would; 5 for the beautiful hostel and 95 stars would be for Maria. 🥰🥰🥰
Tucked away in the lush Colombian mountains, with a breathtaking view of the sea that looks like it was painted by the gods themselves, this brand new hostal is the kind of place you dream about when life gets too loud. The air is fresh, the mornings are kissed by mist, and the sunsets melt right into the ocean below. It's a piece of paradise that feels like it was made just for you. It truly deserves 5 stars.....but then there's MARIA!!!!! María is a force of nature. She’s audacious, full of fire and joy, and her love for life radiates through everything she does. Her energy is contagious—within minutes of meeting her, we were laughing, hugging, and completely swept up in her beautiful world. She's the kind of person who makes you feel like anything is possible and the world is good again!
She’s not just a host—she’s a healer, a hype woman, a guardian of the land, and an unforgettable spirit. We came to this hostel for an adventure, but what we found in María was a soul connection we’ll carry with us forever. If you’re lucky enough to stay here, open your heart—María will fill it to the brim. 🫶 Gracias Maria!!! Ya...
Read morePromisedland Tayrona is very easy to find and located right off the main road. And by the way ; google has the incorrect address and will try and take you to Santa Marta . The correct address is in Buritaca : Calle Bonet , 100 meters past kilometer 52 heading towards La Guajira. In Puerto Rico Google did the same thing to us; I guess it’s a technical issue with google . Anyway; being that said, PromisedLand Tayrona has beautiful breathtaking views and fruit trees all around the facilities. Its cabins are very beautiful and well crafted without a missing detail. You can enjoy nature to its fullest extent. We are very pleased with our host Javier, his wife Paola and all his team. Oh .. and If you need to go anywhere , no worries, Alexis is your go to guide . Breakfast was awesome and very tasteful. Promisedland is a family oriented place with very friendly people. We loved it and will definitely have it on our list for future family and...
