PUERTO CARIBE HOSTAL — Hotel in Magdalena

Myself and 3 of my friends stayed here for 2 nights whilst passing through Santa Marta and attending a music festival. What can I say, whilst the hostel is a little hidden out the way, it was a great find. Upon arrival we were made to feel completely at home, we were brought glasses of freshly made blackberry juice, and the towels / soap provided were a nice touch. Carlos was incredibly helpful throughout our stay, and was a pleasure to talk to, helping to organise taxis for us and even consistently going the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable. The building itself is extremely well looked after and the room was very clean. The air conditioning and fan in the room ensured that we could keep cool in the humid Caribbean heat. The breakfast was delicious. Our only criticism would be the loud music played by the neighbours very early in the morning, but that was no fault of the hostel. Overall, a great stay and one of the best hostels that we stayed in during our trip to Colombia. ||||Como un grupo de 3, pasamos 2 noches aqui durante nuestro viaje en Santa Marta y asistimos a un festival en una de las noches. Que puedo decir... mientras el hostal es un poco escondido, fue un buen descubrimiento! Al llegar, no sentimos en casa, nos trajeron unos jugos deliciosos, y las toallas / flores / jabones en las camas fueron bonitos detalles. Carlos era super amable y acogedor durante nuestra estancia, siempre haciendo un gran esfuerzo para asegurar que estabamos bien. El edificio es bien mantenido y la habitacion muy limpia y comoda. El aire acondicionado en la habitacion fue muy buena y el desayuno tambien. Nuestra unica critica seria la musica de los vecinos por la manana, pero esta no es la culpa del hostel. This hostel is about between 10/19 min drive from the party hostels and is in a quiet area with not much to do. However it is easy to get a taxi to the party areas such as costeno beach and el rio. The rooms are clean and you are given towels for free. The breakfast included is nice also. The lady who owns the hostal is such a warm hearted friendly and kind woman who makes sure you enjoy you're stay and you're needs are met. When we missed the free breakfast one day she made us fresh juices for free! I wanted to leave this review to thank her for her kindness...

I took a double room with air condition for 16€ a night, really really cheap. A wall on the room was with quite some mould, the lock from the toilet door was broken and they woke me up at 7:00 am talking really loud. The breakfast was also not really good.
