Eco Hotel Terrabella — Hotel in Medellín

SAVE YOURSELF THE PAIN!!

Let me start by saying that the “chef” and receptionist folks were kind and welcoming but that was about it!!

PLEASE Consider very carefully before booking here! And read all of the reviews; other guests that have cared enough have left similar experiences. Here are our reasons:

The Smell. There is a horrid smell that permeates everything in the air. The staff will point to a near by mushroom factory but we went to town and closer to the factory and it did not smell as bad there. The place has a smell that makes it hard to breathe.

The dogs. Their dogs roam around making it beyond cute, just plain annoying. Luna bites and nipped at myself, my children and our dogs. We chose to eat in the room because we read that they beg and try to come up for your plate at their eating room.

The distance. It is actually not close from their airport as the map would show, as Santa Helena is up on a hill (over the tunnel) and a toll has to be paid to enter and leave the town.

The administrator/owner. He is an immature, disrespectful kid who refuses to refund the money that we paid and rightfully are owed once we checked out after one night. Booking confirmed and did all of the processing and now, he refuses to take our calls, is rude and deflecting the 3 night additional stay that he owes us. We paid him directly and he wanted Booking to do the refunding. He claims he was “too busy” to call but sent a ridiculous amount of texts and audio messages. It’s been days and he still is playing dumb with out money.

THIS IS NOT A RECOMMENDED PLACE!!

Save yourself and your loved ones the frustration and time and book closer to the airport where a much better...

1 / 2||El Hotel esta ubicado en Santa Helena, cerca del parque, se puede ir caminando, 15 minutos a pie. A 5 minutos también caminando encuentras restaurantes|La habitación mas grande con jacuzzi incluido tiene unas humedades impresionantes y hace que el olor sea desagradable; todo esta cerrado, y a pesar de tener ventanas, no se pueden abrir para sacar el vapor y ventilar por eso la humedad, pareciera que lloviera dentro de la habitación, y esto lo hace muy frio. Además se escuchan los pasos de quienes caminan en la habitación de arriba.|La vista desde la habitación es muy bonita, se puede ver un bosque extenso y apreciar algunas especies de aves.|El Restaurante: nunca nos dieron la carta, (la pedimos por supuesto) creo no tienen, solamente nos ofrecieron 2 opciones esa noche, es decir no hay variedad. El chef muy buena gente y amable, pero ojalá fuera variada. La comida es poca cantidad, así mismo la ensalada y papas fritas, es muy poco y el costo elevado (churrasco 47 mil aprox) y sin sabor. Es mejor salir y comer en los restaurantes cercanos, es mas cantidad y mas económico. Viene con “desayuno incluido” pero es 1 huevo 1 arepa 1 una loncha de queso, o 1 huevo, 1 pan, 1 loncha o pedazo de queso, muy poca fruta, sin jugo y con una taza de chocolate o agua panela fría. La verdad era un desayuno muy poco para ese valor. No es bufette, es plato servido. |Tienen tinto y agua gratis en la recepción, además hay hamacas y juego de mesa. |Aceptan mascotas. Pero no hay control de ellos, y los perritos hacen sus necesidad en todas partes y nadie recoge, (tampoco el dueño de la mascota) lo manifestamos varias veces, pedía disculpa y quedaba así. Además tienen dos perros en el hotel.|Nos dijeron que habría música en vivo el 31 de Diciembre, y solo hubo música de youtube y la colocaba el chef. La cena estuvo bien. |Esta hecho en guadua: El aprovechamiento de la guadua colombiana.|Tiene parqueadero de motos y carros, pocos espacios de esparcimiento en todo el eco hotel. |Tiene muy poco personal. Dos en recepción ( que se doblan los horarios) y un chef que hace funciones de todo/todero, y las dos del aseo el fin de año no fueron a pesar de estar el hotel lleno. |El hotel tiene buena infraestructura, pero parece que hay problemas con el personal y el cual es insuficiente para atender las necesidades. Hace falta un jefe/administrador. ||Le recomiendo al hotel: La habitación que tiene el jacuzzi, reestructurar la habitación del jacuzzi para permitir ventilación, y adecuar las ventanas-vidrio para que se puedan abrir y ventilar, para si disminuir la humedad. E insonorizar la habitación.||El bar tiene cerveza artesanal de Santa Elena, Presagio, es buena; además hay otros licores. |Puedes salir a caminar por las veredas y zona rural cercana, hay paisajes muy lindo. |Parece mas recomendado para parejas, una sola noche esta bien y listo. ...
