Hotel Suma Wasi — Hotel in Mocoa

After staying a night in one of the dingy places in downtown Mocoa, we changed to Suma Wasi, and it was a definite improvement. The location is good and bad; it is on the outskirts of town so not near anything of use, but it is nice to be out of the hustle and bustle, meaning it is nice and quiet and relaxing. The food was pretty solid, they make an effort to serve local food which is quite good. They even woke up early for us to make breakfast before their standard opening time. Escogí este hotel que estaba calificado como el mejor de Mocoa. Lamentablemente no es así. Reserve dos habitaciones para descansar en familia unos días de semana santa. Pero nada funciona bien. Tuve que llamar varias veces para que arreglaran el agua caliente. No hay teléfono a la recepción. Si hay pero no funciona. Entonces es necesario llamar a un celular, HY dos mineros pero casi nunca responden. No sirve la televisión y llevo dos días rogando que la reparen. La respuesta de la recepcionista fue: “es que hoy no viene nadie que se encargue de eso” una habitación sin luz y nadie arregla el problema. Además, en la piscina, única diversión para los niños, hay un bar con música a todo volumen y unos huéspedes disponen del parlante del bar a su antojo sin que el personal del hotel pueda hacer nada. La respuesta de la encargada fue :”ya les dije que le bajen”. Sin piscina, sin luz y sin television encerrado en el cuarto esperando que pase el día para irme. Esa es la experiencia en el que podría ser el mejor hotel de Mocoa si quisieran....

Very nice and modern hotel on outskirts of town. Not close to anything but taxis are always available. The design is nice but the sound from the pool and bar can be a little distracting.
