Hotel Marialu — Hotel in Ocaña

This is a relatively new hotel and the owners have created a comfortable, modern place to stay in a town that has little to offer. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was large and clean. The bed was comfortable and the shower was powerful and had hot water, possibly the best hotel shower I have had in Colombia. The price included breakfast, also not very common in my experience in Colombia. The breakfast was typically eggs, but they were tasty and everything was clean. The car park was just two doors down and the staff there were also very helpful with directions.||The problem is the location. I really didn't like Ocaña and the hotel is amongst a horrific one way system where people think it's ok to walk on the road, where there are a million motorbikes and no signs to help you to know where you are going. Basically the bad things about Colombia concentrated in one "town". Ocaña is massive, really a city, and because the main road goes through it there are too many huge trucks. The hotel itself is okay, the rooms are clean and comfortable. But the people are not nice. I had to find a tool to unclog the toilet myself because the lady at the reception didn't help. Only when I was finished already did she offer to give another room. Breakfast is very basic (no fruits or juice). And we had to pay full price even though they agreed to the price on booking when we checked in. They didn't understand that it was better for them if we don't book over booking so they don't have to...

Por estar ubicado cerca al sector del mercado debería existir un tapete de limpieza para desinfectar el calzado y evitar llevar el virus hacia el interior del hotel. Exigir el uso del tapabocas, y que la persona encargada de recibir al huésped también porte su correspondiente tapabocas, de la misma forma la señora del aseo y lavado de ropa, recuerden que por la saliva que se emana al hablar se puede trasmitir el virus.
