Hotel Hacienda Santa Barbara — Hotel in Pinchote

I didn't know about this place until I got myself into a friend's trip from Bucaramanga city. It was a little bit further from San Gil and the little town near the hacienda is called Pinchote.||||The place is magnificent, a traditional hacienda (farm/ranch) away from the noise of the city where you'll have peace while you're staying there. We got the hacienda for ourselves, San Gil was packed with people but out tour was to visit this hacienda in particular so we were so lucky to have this huge and beautiful place for ourselves.||When arriving you'll see horses and cows at each side of the bumpy road, then you'll see some little houses which belong to the hacienda and then you'll see the bigger house and main entrance (check photo) to this hotel/hostel. ||||The staff were very kind and friendly, we were more than 10 people but they have enough patience while placing us in our rooms. The lobby has lots of chairs and couches and while you wait you can check all the crazy stuff they have there, even the different trophies the hacienda has won.||The rooms are huge, ours have 2 beds (1 single and 1 queen) with a little dresser, big mirror and a lovely bathroom. Everything was really clean! ||||Outside our room there was this hall with some benches plus lots of hammocks just to enjoy of reading a book there. As the place is away you can relax while listening to different kind of birds and of course, the horses and cows in the distance.||The swimming pool is big enough and perfect for a summer day! Clean as well. There's a little snack store near this.||||The food was really good but nothing out of the ordinary, so don't expect gourmet food, the restaurant provides local food and really delicious but nothing exotic which is ok if you're in this traditional hotel. ||In the morning we have the most delicious breakfast! With milk got from the cows that morning, after the breakfast we have somebody from the staff which guide us through the whole hacienda telling us about their products as well. They even let us milk a cow! What a terrific experience! :D ||||Walking around the place was really recharging as everything was very well kept, flowers everywhere and huge trees, so you can expect a great and refreshing enviroment in this place. You can ride horses there as well but unfortunately, we couldn't as we have to move to another town (as part of our tour).||||If you're looking for a place to escape and recharge batteries, this is the place for you. Very kind, friendly and comfortable place. To get in touch with nature! ||Can't recommend this place enough to my relatives...

Muy básica la atención, nadie le orienta a los huéspedes las posibilidades de actividades, en 5 minutos haces un recorrido por todo el lugar y si los niños quieren ver animales, si acaso alcanzan a ver 4 vacas. Dicen que es bastante grande la hacienda pero no hay un sendero que guíe a ningún lugar, al contrario, hay rejas que impiden el paso por todos lados... además de que está superlejos de la ciudad, el acceso tiene una carretera destapada y la camioneta se enterró dos veces en el parqueadero... tampoco controlan el tipo de personas que hospedan, nos despertó a medianoche una borracha supergrosera gritando que el marido le iba a pegar y que llamaran a la policía interrumpiéndonos el descanso... por otro lado, pienso que si la intención del viaje es disfrutar de piscina, ese no es el lugar!! la piscina solo tiene si acaso dos metros cuadrados de área para nadar, el resto son escaleras y áreas muy poco profundas, para los niños estaría bien, aunque por estar en zona de montañas, normalmente el clima es frio, pienso que en san gil hay muchos otros lugares más bonitos y con mejor clima para disfrutar del sol y la piscina... no hay teléfono en la habitación, y debes ir hasta la recepción para solicitar cualquier cosa, en las duchas debes esperar mucho tiempo para que salga el agua caliente... pienso que deben esforzarse mucho más en guiar a las personas que los visitan por primera vez e incluir mucha más variedad en el menú del...

Mal servicio, aparte de que es grande, no hay teléfono para servicio a la habitación, hay que ir hasta recepción. Lejos de la ciudad por carretera destapada. Baños públicos sin papel. Mucha apariencia en fotos de google con gente con “uniformes”.

Restaurante: nada que decir aparte de que el servicio es muy lento y muy malo, el mesero olvida sus pedidos, no los trae o se equivoca de producto. En la noche solo ocupan comidas rápidas por lo que no se puede disfrutar de un mejor menú. Si quiere comer disponga de al menos dos horas de su tiempo, o pida y salga a hacer una actividad. Como dijo una reseña que no tome en cuenta: “mala comida y costosa”. Habitaciones: espaciosas, pero descuidadas, primera impresión olor a moho, en mi habitación habia una lámpara con ventilador, en la que el ventilador no funcionaba. En el baño el agua caliente tarda mucho en salir, solo pude disfrutarla al final de mi baño. Indicaciones: No mencionan las cosas que se incluyen o que se pueden realizar, que uno les y se instruya uno mismo, no recuerdan los precios de las actividades, lo dejan a uno a la deriva. Lugar: alejado de la ciudad, espacioso, muy bonito, ideal para alejarse de la civilización pero no para quedarse y salir a pasear, hay mejores lugares campestres en la vía principal.
