Posada Lkjay Providencia Isla — Hotel in Providence Island

We travel a lot (40+ countries), and Posada Lkjay was by far the best lodging experience we ever had!!! Such a human quality could be hardly overcome. Lyndon Jay (the owner) and his loving family helped us made our experience in Providence so authentic, and inexpensive at the same time! They even treated us by leaving typical juices/sweets in our room in the evenings! Whenever Lyndon was available, he would take us to the beach or restaurant we wanted to go, and even the last day, when we needed tickets to come back by plane (due to an impromptu with the return schedule of our catamaran ticket), he helped us find them and waited with us at the airport making sure everything was ok. We couldn’t be more thankful with the Jay family for all their help!! The apartments are very clean (there’s cleaning service everyday), comfortable, very spacious, modern, build with high quality materials and the kitchen is equipped with everything one might need to prepare the meals. We loved the quality of the mattress, the sheets and and the towels. During the evenings, we enjoyed the chill out area near the pool. The location is great, there are some stores close by and the downtown is at walking distance. We stayed only a few days this time, but we are already planning to go back to Lyndon’s place for a month whenever we have the chance! We couldn’t recommend more staying at Posada Lkjay. Stay here! The owner was very friendly and accommodating to us and our 6hr old. He helped secure a reasonably priced boat ride to Crab Caye, a cart rental for two days and taxi rides. The pool was amazing to take dips in between visits at the beach. The staff was friendly and the AC was cool. The location felt pretty central to beaches and Old Town. e Unterkunft auf Providencia hat uns rundum begeistert. Die Ausstattung des kleinen Apartments war modern und übertraf unsere Erwartungen – vor allem im Vergleich zu anderen Unterkünften in Kolumbien, aber besonders auf Providencia. Es war schön, dass alles sauber und gut gepflegt war. Der Gastgeber war unglaublich herzlich und stand uns jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Man spürte, dass er stets bemüht war, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen, was unseren Aufenthalt sehr angenehm machte. Ein zusätzlicher Vorteil war, dass man direkt vor Ort einen Roller mieten konnte, was die Mobilität auf der Insel erheblich erleichterte. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen!

Das einzige Manko war das WLAN. Wofür der Inhaber aber keinerlei Schuld trägt. Es war ganz oft überhaupt nicht möglich, das Internet zu nutzen, um am Handy etwas zu googeln oder allgemein online zu sein. Auch das Streamen am Smart-TV, der im Zimmer vorhanden war, war praktisch unmöglich. Der Trick, ab und an den Stecker des Modems zu ziehen, hat gelegentlich funktioniert, aber das ist natürlich keine optimale Lösung. Eine mögliche Verbesserung wäre die Nutzung von Starlink, das auf Providencia eine ausgezeichnete Abdeckung bietet.
