The owners of the finca were not really welcoming towards us (couple), only to the guide.
It was very bad weather and below 10°C. We were soaked wet when we arrived but were not invited or allowed even near the oven. Our guide on the other hand was. For dinner (which was a joke), we could sit on the other side of the kitchen for the 10 minutes we ate the small portion of rice. I know that it is their private living-room and they don't have to treat us like kings and queens but other fincas are way nicer and let you heat up and dry a bit.
Taking a blanket from the dormitory outside the dormitory was also forbidden...which would be okay if the blankets were not THAT dusty already.
The food was barely enough. I am aware that it is difficult to get supplies up the mountain and that I cannot expect a high class gourmet restaurant, but all other fincas we have visited provided much bigger portions and the food tasted much better.
If possible, go 1 hour further uphill to the finca Buenos Aires.
And this would all be less of a problem if they were a bit nicer and more welcoming to visitors. If they do not want to have guests, then they should stop offering...

While I super appreciate the shelter they provided for two nights, it’s far from a cozy stay you might have experienced other places. The reality is that the multi bed room you’ll be in is dark, cold, and dusty. The food is very humble and if you are hungry, you will stay hungry. On the bright side, they offer hot tea and there is warm shower - luxurious moments after you get soaked in the mountains! We did an unguided day trip from the finca to Quindio Norte and it was amazing. We were hiking inside a thunder cloud!...
Read moreWe had a great stay with Gloria. We came without a guide and managed to get her number from the tourist info in the Salento square. She was very responsive to confirm the reservation and a wonderful host when we arrived. She even lent me a hat when I had forgotten mine. There seemed to be a few other beds that were free but also a large trekking group staying, so we were glad we had messaged in advance. Hot showers...
