The best place we stayed during our 2-week trip in Colombia. I took no photos of the room or property, only of the hotel dog who was a delight. I was fully present in the moment, enjoying our time at Tukki in the evenings.
We booked the room with the jacuzzi and it was a perk after full days of hiking or exploring the nearby towns.
The room was very large, the bathroom was next-level luxurious and the bed was the best one we slept on the whole trip.
Aside from extremely comfy and clean suites, what makes this place special is the staff. They are polite and attentive. They know how to make your stay special without you even asking for it.
For example, we could store our luggage early and continue spending the day exploring. That in itself isn't extraordinary - what is, is that on our return to check in we were offered tea or coffee, to sit down comfortably while we checked in. Waiting in our room? Our luggage.
Nearly immediately after check in, they sent all the details about dinner at the hotel if we wanted it and were responsive through messages to questions I would probably not have bothered to ask in person.
Our first night, we had our dinner, at the hotel's suggestion, on our patio, and they came back for our plates when we were ready. It was peaceful. It was homemade, and the products were of high quality. Not over-the-top, yet delicious and generous portions.
Every time we came back to the hotel, the staff came out to suggest a parking spot, asked what we did, and ensured we had all we needed.
Location-wise, it's not hard to get to. You'll be on a dirt road only for a short while, much like everywhere else in Eje Cafetero. It's peaceful and natural. Filandia is a short ride away.
We left feeling like our trip was made and that we received...
Read morei stayed at the tukki ecolodge for much needed r&r. overall, i would describe the hotel has serene, comfortable, and well designed.
i stayed in room 8. it has a great view and i fell asleep one night watching a distant lightning storm. shower water pressure is strong which i appreciated. and the bed is very comfortable, making it feel like a luxury stay.
there are two areas to lounge - one by the lobby and an area in the back. this is a nice option if you don’t want to hang out on your balcony. i had dinner in the back lounge one night, and sat and read in the front lounger another night. both were very relaxing.
the staff is great. i was in a whatsapp convo with the hotel and was able to talk through a lot of logistical details and during my trip. i also ordered food and beverage through WhatsApp. on the morning of my departure, my transportation to the airport was cancelled and the hotel staff responded to my stressed 6am message and arranged a replacement car for me. another staff member also explained how i could catch a jeep into town, breaking down the exact schedule for me.
it is a quick ride into filandia. i do not recommend walking it although you technically could.
the breakfast is generous and lovely. and they offered me tea and coffee any time i arrived at the hotel.
i did not request a hike to the waterfall on my trip but i did walk the grounds which was a nice short walk and set up well with concrete blocks.
i would definitely return, and recommend staying at tukki as a home base to...
