Cheaper then dorms in the center. No a/c but was not needed, plenty of ceiling fans to keep the room fresh and since it's higher up (not at sea level) you get a fresh breeze as well. Room has kitchen area, table and fridge; with everything you need in dishware (plates, pans, spoons, knifes, jars etc). Supermarket nearby to buy supplies. Cleaning was great, done everyday; I even left dishes dirty one morning and when I came back in the afternoon they were washed, dried and stored. No sand was left in the shower, cleaned daily. I got a room with 5 beds all to myself LOL. Somewhat of low season (even though there is tourist all year round there), so I they gave me a special price. The owner / host Lina, explained all the details, how to get transportation to the center, to the beach etc (two thousand pesos moto taxi, 2200 for bus). She recommended tours, places to eat, activities to do. Full of knowledge and great vibes. Only about a 20 minute walk to center and like 15 minutes to main docks where tours go out. It was nice to get peace and quite once you hit the bed and get a good nights rest. Not like the center hostales and hotels where you hear everything. Highly recommended for families, couples or solo adventures who want peace and quite at night and space to cook in. Fantastic place for the price!! A private room for a little more than a dorm room. Internet was always fast. So close to everything, only a 2000 peso motor taxi ride away from the centre of town and the airport. The room I was in didn't have air con, but with the two fans going and being on top of the hill with the breeze, it wasn't really needed. John and Lena were amazing !! Could get better hosts, so friendly and helpful, you could ask them any thing and the were only too willing to help out. Je ne recommande pas du tout ! Hôtel TRES TRES loin du centre, il faut marcher presque 1h en plein soleil sans ombre pour atteindre le centre ville, là d'où partent toutes les excursions. La dame de l'hôtel nous avait annoncé 15min de marche.... Heu non !!!! Autour de l'hotel il n'y a rien pour manger ou acheter de l'eau. L'eau du robinet n'est pas potable et ils n'offrent même pas une petite bouteille d'eau à l'arrivée dans la chambre. Le wifi marche très très mal alors que nous en avons besoin pour travailler. Je ne parle même pas de la douche froide qui ressemble plus à un tuyau d'arrosage qu'à une douche... Aucune clim dans la chambre, seulement des ventilateurs, il y fait une chaleur à mourir. Quant à la vue elle est inexistante, cachée derrière des barreaux aux fenêtres et une moustiquaire à trou inutile. Nous avons réservé pour 8 nuits ici, quelle déception !!! Aucun geste de la part de l'hotel, nous n'avons donc pas pu changer d'hotel et avons dû y séjourner contre notre souhait.
