As a city dweller I am always lookinng for my next hit of peace and quiet where I can emerse myself in nature and the colour green to maintain equilibrim in mind, body and soul. I also like, food, wine, coffee and adventure and therefore El Diamante ticks all the right boxes when it comes to choosing the perfect get away for a 3 day family stay for me,||||Our room was super spacious and ideal for a family of four. The kids on a single bed with a pullout bed underneath, and my partner and I in a nice big bed with soft pillows and a lovely warm duvet. There was coffee making facilities with the amazing premium coffee that is cultivated and toasted right there in their sister finca, La Manchuria. The room has satellite tv and a nice smart tv if you so wish to entertain yourself. I have to say though we didn't need it at any point during our stay. The bathroom is in keeping with the finca style but with modern touches such as a walk-in rain shower and artesanal organic shampoo/conditioner/soap. They provide towels and bath robes.||||The food throughout our stay was really great, from breakfast to supper everything was to our liking. The desserts were a real winner with everyone and I enjoyed the fact that many of the fruits that we were eating came from the finca itself. Everything was beautifully served and presented. Even the evening snacks that were delivered during our evening drinks were so delicious with real attention to detail. The bar and service staff were all super friendly and present. The chef and his team are flexible with children. Kids can be a bit fussy and although the food delicious, it may be too extravegant for little ones. With a bit of forward planning he made sure that the meals that they recieved were delicious and a bit simpler. My kids really ate everything he delivered and they loved interacting with him. For me the highlight is always sitting at the big table for breakfast in the enterance with the view over the mountains, with my La Manchuria coffee, watching the little birds at the bird tables and the bigger birds flyig higher over head. I really couldn't think of a better way to start the day.||||We walked early in the morning to make the most of the fresh cool air and to enjoy the different views with a bit of cloud, it makes it very different to those views you see in the afternoon with the late afternoon sun.||||We took the tour of the cafetales with coffeee tasting in La Manchuria which I absolutly loved. They provide you with a little backpack and water for the day with a fruit snack. A hat is really necessary and sunscreen/insect repellant You set off on the adventure in a Willy Land Cruiser and head for the cafetales. It was so interesting. With Alejandro guiding us through the finca, we learnt so much about the origins of coffee, the plants and the processes of cultivation. He was an absolute fountain of knoweledge. He answered all of our questions without hesitation and was super informative. Further on in the tasting with Gabriel we learnt how to prepare the coffee (you've been doing it wrong all your life btw ;) and how to taste it to recieve all the notes and levels of flavour. There is so much more to it than what I thought. It was quite a long morning and I could have done with some food and somewhere to sit down during the tasting but these are small points that didn't detract from the excelent experience. I would also recommend that this tour is not for chldren, they wouldn't enjoy it and if you were to bring them on the tour make sure they have something to entertain themselves with and some snacks for along the way.||||The kids enjoyed the pool a lot, they spent the majority of their time in there happily. They also enjoyed ping pong and the other games that are available. They had time to have little adventures of their own with the freedom to wander around the orchard and the adjoing forest. There are horses and helmets are available at your request if you so wish to use them.||||All in all, a successful trip to Finca El Diamante. I hope that we will be back there one day in the near future. It really is a little piece of Heaven...
Read moreThis is such a hidden haven, with the most spectacular views Colombia's coffee region can offer. We stayed here before driving down to Cocora Valley for a few days, which we felt we had to do since this Finca wasn't 'technically' in the coffee axis. But we shouldn't have bothered with the drive south. This place had everything, including (in our view) even more amazing scenery! We did the excellent coffee tour with Juan, which was thorough and fascinating and packed with so many varieties and tastings, as well as the horse riding (a real highlight). The service, all around, is outstanding. If you want to check off Colombia's coffee experience without veering too far South of Medellin/Bogota, this will give you everything you need. Even if you do have the time to do the whole coffee axis, this is a worthwhile detour. It was quieter than we expected and felt a bit like a relic (ever so slightly old fashioned), but that added to the feel of seclusion, while still offering the luxury & comfort we needed for a...
Read moreWe rented La Finca El Diamante to celebrate my Mom's birthday celebration, we had 42 guests that came in from the USA as well as South America. This place is magical, stunning views, the staff was so attentive to details and making sure the guests were having a good time, chef Antonio prepared for us everyday delicious Colombian dishes and the manager Tom Provost helped us with all the details for our 42 guests, including coffee tours, horseback riding, eco walking tours, picnic at the top of the mountain for all the guests, plus transportation by bus and helicopter, and he did it with perfection. We also had an incredible 5-piece band for the party recommended by La Finca. The venue has beautiful rooms as well as outdoor areas with breath taking views, it's hard to explain just how special this place is. We would rebook El Diamante without hesitation for another celebration and is on our list of places to return to, if even...
