Matisses Hotel Campestre — Hotel in Santa Rosa de Cabal

This country lodge style property is lovely. The property has a tiny pond, outdoor seating areas, a trampoline, pool, jacuzzi and lovely plants and flowers along with a beautiful 360 view of the surrounding mountains and landscape. its beautifully curated. The location is so relaxing.You really feel you are in the Colombian countryside.||||The beds are comfortable with a nice thick blanket for the cool country nights. Some of the rooms have a decent sized balcony. I was only wishing for a hammock for the balcony. ||||Breakfast is typical Colombian style breakfast, arepas, pan, juevos (eggs) and coffee, tea or hot chocolate. Only breakfast is served, no other meals. A short walk to the main road and you can eat at a typical Colombian countryside restaurant that provides a lot of food with good quality.||||For transportation, I recommend calling in advance to have them send a driver to pick you up from the local airport if you are flying in. We landed in Pereira and would have had an easier time finding the place if we had the hotel arrange transportation. ||||Laura and George (the owners) speak English and are so polite and helpful. This place is a great homebase for excursions around Santa Rosa. It's a short drive to the termales (San Vicente or Santa Rosa) and a short drive into Santa Rosa town. And it's an easy drive from Pereira as well. ||||The host is very welcoming and willing to point you in the right direction or answer any questions you may have. ||||My wife and I stayed there with our 5 year old daughter and our daughter loved jumping on the trampoline, swimming in the quiet pool, playing on the grass, and checking out the burro that lives next door.||||Our room was basic and small, but finely appointed and clean. We enjoyed the outside patio connected to our room. Breakfast was delicious...

I have been trying to visit this place for some. Sometimes unplanned visits are the best. Having family friends nearby, we made our visit and immediately greeted at the entrance. The tranquility of this place was felt immediately - positive energy every where. We strolled through lush greens - incredible serenity. Highly recommended - check out the massage parlor before you leave - you will not be sorry at all. My wife and I needed a therapeutic gateway . . . You will enjoy.
