Hotel Florida Sincelejo — Hotel in Sucre

Can someone explain what's going on in the hospitality industry - notably in South Florida where we just spent 2 weeks? Our observations and warnings to other travelers:| - Apparently many individual hotels and chains are now owned by distant owners -- pehaps even 10,000 miles away. These owners don't know the meaning of the word 'hospitality.' Just because it says 'Days Inn' or 'Wyndham,' chances are it's operated by people thousands of miles away who have no idea how to run a hotel. |- These owners are trying to run their properties with almost ZERO staff. One desk person and maybe one cleaning person for 40 rooms.|- If you have any questions about bills or reservations, the desk person will look it up and be relieved (off the hook) if you made the reservation through a '3rd party.' They can't answer any questions about your reservation if you didn't talk to the front desk originally - which is almost impossible to do.|- In one hotel, we were greeted by a TV screen where someone in India -- via something like Zoom - asked to show our IDs and other info. There was NOBODY in the lobby to answer questions about the amenities or about local sights to visit, restaurants etc.||WARNING: Only make reservations via the hotel front desk. I suggest it's better to go up a few notches to stay in a better hotel, get true hospitality, no reservation games, better accommodations, a real,...

1.当我在booking预定3人间后到酒店，前台告诉我没有3人间了，只有3间一人间，价格比三人间贵百分40左右。2.我看了房间后有一个双人间一个单人间就定了2间。3.当我付款后前台告诉我需要把booking的订单退了，不然会收取我双倍费用。4.当我联系booking客服说明原因后，客服与酒店联系后，酒店说有3人间是我不愿意住换成了 1个单人间，2个人住单人间，1个人没住，并想要收取我双倍费用。ps:1.酒店洗澡没热水。2.大楼空调外机在窗外整夜响。3.窗户锁不上。4.早餐服务员态度极差。5.wifi能连上，但是不能使用任何软件（任何！）。这个酒店是我在整个南美旅游居住最差的没有之一，简直是噩梦。

Cuando llegué al hotel después de reservar 3 habitaciones en booking, la recepción me dijo que no había 3 habitaciones disponibles, solo 3 de una habitación. El precio era alrededor de un 100% más caro que las habitaciones triples. 2. Después de mirar la habitación había una habitación doble y una habitación individual y fijé 2. 3. Cuando pagué la recepción me dijo que tenía que devolver el pedido de booking, de lo contrario me cobraría el doble. 4. Cuando me puse en contacto con el servicio de atención al cliente de la reserva para explicar el motivo, el servicio de atención al cliente se puso en contacto con el hotel, el hotel dijo que hay 3 habitaciones es que no estoy dispuesto a quedarse en cambio 1 habitación individual, 2 personas en una habitación individual, 1 persona no se alojó y quería cobrarme el doble. Ps :1. No hay agua caliente en el baño del hotel. 2. El aire acondicionado exterior del edificio suena por la ventana toda la noche. 3. La ventana no se puede bloquear. 4. La actitud del camarero del desayuno es muy pobre. 5. Wifi puede conectar, pero no puede usar ningún software (¡Ninguno!) . Este hotel es uno de mis peores residencias turísticas en toda sudamérica. Es una pesadilla.

I stayed two nights at Florida Hotel in Sincelejo. The rooms are small, but it was clean and bright. The specific room I stayed in was so small that in the washroom, the sink was inside the shower. That was a bit strange. But I was with a group of other people and they said that this wasn't the case in their rooms. Breakfast is included - typical costeño breakfast. The hotel is right downtown in Sincelejo, which means it's very close to the park and to the Plaza Majagual. It also means that its a bit noisy in the area.
