Hotel Montecarlo by croma — Hotel in Tolú

If you need an inexpensive, basic place to stay in Tolu, Hotel Montecarlo works. The rooms are big (lots of families staying here) and clean. You can pay for a room with a/c, which also has a ceiling fan. (We paid COP 50,000, about $26, which didn't include breakfast.) Only cold water in the bathroom. Our room didn't have a view, in fact, only a tiny window in the bathroom, but there were seats on the open balcony overlooking the sea. There was free wifi, but only in the common spaces, like the balcony. The hotel is a little further away from the most active, noisy part of Tolu which was a plus for me. ||||Breakfast (about $3) was very good one morning (watermelon, eggs, arepa, sweet bread, cheese and coffee or chocolate) and weaker the next (maybe due to our later start, but no fruit, and a slice of white bread instead of the roll).||||The staff was very nice and we enjoyed our stay in funky...

Por cuestiones logísticas tuvimos que pasar una noche en este hotel. En plena temporada alta el hotel se veía prometedor. |Estuvimos dos adultos, un adulto mayor y un bebé. |El proceso de ingreso fue ágil y nos asignaron una habitación inclusive antes del horario permitió (3pm). |Al ingresar a la habitación 203 nos dimos cuenta que el aire acondicionado no estaba operativo. Solicitamos en reiteradas oportunidades el apoyo con el aire y siempre fue nulo. |Teniendo presentes un menor y un adulto mayor, pedimos que nos facilitaran un ventilador adicional el cual nunca llegó. |Sobre la media noche prometieron pasarnos a una habitación diferente y el personal nunca llegó para hacer el cambio. |La habitación estaba calurosa en un clima tan caliente como el de Tolu. |Tengo entendido que el hotel está abriendo con nueva administración la cual tiene grandísimos retos:|- modernizar un poco las habitaciones (es cuestión de “maquillaje” y estética). |- mejorar los ventiladores y aires ya que el clima así lo requiere|- cambiar la lencería de las camas que ya se encuentra percudida e inclusive con malos olores. |El hotel no es malo, simplemente nuestra experiencia no...

Might be one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in and that’s saying a lot. No wifi, except near the front desk. In this day and age, that’s an incredible oversight. The staff is nice enough but the room and facilities are absolutely terrible. No a/c. It’s about double the cost of the competition and should really be about 1/4 of the price they charge. Avoid...
