MAKARY BEACH HOTEL — Hotel in Tolú

The beach was immediately disappointing. You can't really swim there. The water is dirty and full of particulate matter.

The pool was disappointing. It's waist deep and overheats in the sun so that it's not even refreshing when you jump in.

The service was very disappointing.

We arrived and they couldn't find our reservation so the guy made us sit in the hot sun for 30min while he made multiple phone calls and called in 2 of his colleagues. THE PLACE WAS EMPTY. There was no reason not to just put us in a room while they sorted it out.

When they finally decided to put us in a room there was another 20 minute process of interrogation first. They asked me more questions than customs did when I entered the country.

As they finally took us to the room they pointed out that if I wanted to drink my own rum that I had brought while on the property I had to pay a corking fee. Meanwhile at no time as we were chilling by the pool did anyone ask us if we wanted a drink. Instead each time I had to go searching for one of the multiple employees who were scattered around the property to get them to come to the bar and serve us.

I have no idea what they were doing. There were no other clients.

They never told us the hotel served food. We went for a walk along the beach and managed to convince the find a small place that served fish.

When we got back to the hotel at 9pm a staff member came to notify us that the kitchen was closing and asked for the first time if we wanted to see a menu.

I definitely would not have been so harsh if the place had been reasonably priced but this place is charging top...

Diciembre 2024: Una total decepción para su precio. Me sentí estafada desde el primer momento. Aunque el apartamento era sencillo y cómodo se nota que hace falta mantenimiento, el wifi no funcionaba y el aire está en la sala y en las habitaciones solo hay extractores que hacen mucho ruido, dicen que hay tv plana y ni pagan el directTV.

La piscina es para niños, no mide más de un metro. Además, no vi que le hicieran mantenimiento y no es del tamaño que se muestra en las fotos, decepcionante para personas que cómo yo buscabamos piscina para alternar con el mar.

Es un apartamento pero no está dotado, no había ni un cuchillo, ni una cuchara para poder cocinar algo.

No hay políticas de control de música en las noches, o el personal no lo cumple. No nos dejaron dormir, si la idea es descansar no vaya, dejaron la música hasta la 1 de la mañana a pesar de pedirle amablemente que regulara su volumen, y solo se encontraba una persona del hotel con dos personas a las que le dió el control del...

El hospedaje en el hotel fue agradable pero pudo haber sido perfecto.. El personal es muy amable y atento, sin embargo; a las instalaciones les hace falta mantenimiento. Sobre todo en los baños de los apartamentos, ya que están muy deteriorados. El agua de la ducha sale muy pegada a la pared y las toallas están muy desgastadas, y hasta desteñidas. Tampoco cuenta con toallas para afuera de la ducha o trapero para secar luego del baño. La primera noche no funcionó el aire acondicionado (que está en la sala porque es central) pero no hizo calor, al día siguiente lo arreglaron. La cocina que tienen los apartamentos no está para nada dotada, ni un cubierto. Es algo que deberían mejorar o por lo menos avisar, para uno llevar. A pesar de todo, resaltamos lo deliciosa que era la comida, tanto para el desayuno, el almuerzo y la cena. También el ambiente familiar que se vive en la playa y en la piscina. Recomendamos...
