Hampton by Hilton Valledupar — Hotel in Valledupar

This hotel is the lowest point for Hampton I have ever seen and a shame for the Hilton chain. ||In spite of the good looking location, service is not within the standards of the franchise. Bathrooms have no shampoo nor even soap. If you ask for it to the front desk it never comes and if you find some maid in the hall she will say that she cannot provide it because the bottles are counted. Are the employees stealing the supplies??? ||The rooms in the second floor have a view to a wall and the water pipes are noisy all the time. ||Breakfast is scheduled from 6 to 10 am, but it you will find almost nothing after 9:00 am and you will be lucky if you get somebody of the hotel to ask for bread and coffee. Sorry, I’m lying I saw somebody of the kitchen eating a bread of the buffet while picking some trays. ||Used dishes are piling on the tables so you need to clean your table yourself. ||The only employee in the help desk will kindly hear your complaints but doing nothing to solve them. ||If you want a good hotel in Valledupar this Hampton is not an option. We stayed at this Hitesh for 2 nights, the first night the service was a bit awkward because we were given a room with a very strange toilet, we didn’t ask for a change. Breakfast was ok, continental style.|The hotel has a nice terrace where you can seat and have a drink. Mind you the beer is a bit over priced. |The following day our flight was cancelled and we came back to the hotel and booked an extra night, the service at the counter was a lot better than the previous night and we told the guys who served us about the room from the previous night and they told us that we should have told them about it and that they would have happily given us a different room. |All in all the service was good and downstairs there is a huge shopping centre with excellent brands and a powerful air...

I stayed at the Hampton in Valledupar during a month long travel through Colombia and it was one of the best places I have stayed in recent years in Colombia. The room was clean, bright and had a good size and I got some relaxing rest. The location is just a 5 minute taxi ride from the old town of Valledupar and 10 minutes from the river. But what made the hotel so special was the caring kindness of its staff. Especially Edwin did his best to make my stay as comfortable as possible and gave me an introduction into all the sights close by.
