Awful and lousy experience.
First, we didn't get the room we booked through the Booking app, we booked and paid for a triple room with three twin beds (we are 4, me, my wife and 2 kids) and we got accommodated in a room with a single bed and a king (we got downgraded and didn't get the difference back). Front desk staff was not helpful when shown the Booking information in the app and insisted that 'to them' a twin is a single bed. They also kept insisting that one of the kids was 'free of charge' which clearly was not the issue for us.
Second, the sheets in the bedroom were not clean, they had dirty spots on them, the bathroom was not clean either (cockroaches were found in it). And the AC was not cooling the room at all and when reported to the hotel staff they didn't do anything about it.
Third, breakfast was rationed to tiny portions and when the kids wanted cereal we were confronted by the staff saying the kids couldn't get cereal. The staff serving the food on your plate was not wearing any kind of protective elements (no face mask, no hair net, no plastic gloves).
Only good thing was location, supermarket nearby, restaurants, and a lot of commerce.
Overall would not recommend, very poor attention...
Read moreLike so many small, non-chain hotels, this place is a hit or miss in many aspects. Its main benefits are quite obvious from the start: the location is convenient, it’s inexpensive, and breakfast is included. Later we discovered rooms are clean and staff is reasonably responsive. However, upon arriving we found there are enough disadvantages to justify considering spending twice or three times as much on the Hampton or Sonesta. It’s on a narrow one-lane street infested with informal sidewalk merchants, making it almost impossible to exit your cab and retrieve your luggage without obstructing traffic and exposing yourself to a potentially dangerous situation. Check-in is unusually slow. Our room’s AC did not work, forcing us to request another room, so make sure to check before you settle in. No hot water, ever (it’s even designed that way). Towels are tiny and offer a free exfoliation with their sandpaper texture. Also, they insist on having only two towels even when we stayed in a triple room with three individual beds and later in a family room with 5 beds, forcing you to request more. I wouldn’t stay there again unless my budget was...
Read moreI spent three nights at this hotel in November 2019. It is located in the heart of town, which is full of people during the day, but gets really solitary at night when the shops close up. I was on the third floor, right near an event space that was holding some kind of gathering the first day I was there. Although there was a lot of noise at first, the event was over by 9pm (as promised by the staff) and my room was quiet. The room was spacious and had a very comfortable bed, good AC unit, and a nice bathroom. Staff was very friendly. The complimentary breakfast every morning was very nice, with cereal, eggs, arepas, bread, fruit, juice, coffee, and...
