The Villa Antigua was the last chance saloon, as everywhere else in Cucuta was full and the border was closed. If you know its location, you are pretty much prepared for a disappointing experience, as its almost on the pretty rough border. Having said that, the hotel does give a bit of respite from the border chaos.||||The positive about the hotel were the guys on reception, they were very helpful. Wifi was available at the reception area, but I could not access it, nevertheless one of the guys loaned me the hotels laptop so I could get online.||||I suppose once over it was considered in a different light, as it has a nice pool area out the back.||||The rooms are large, simple and have seen better days, and you may be required to share with cockroaches and mosquitoes. Fortunately Cucuta is a hot frontier town, so the lack of hot water is reduced by the fact that the 'cold' is in fact tepid. Unfortunately there was no shower head, to further enjoy the water temperature with. Instead it was just a mains pressure jet. It is possible to park a car outside your room.||||Due to the high volume of guests at breakfast, the buffet had been ransacked and not replenished, with no time to wait around the guys on reception agreed to discount the breakfast from the bill, without any fuss.||||Must remember to book ahead next...
Read moreI was in this hotel in Oct. 12th to Oct. 15th (During RedColsi National Event 2016) and I think my stay was well but I have a few points that discourage me about this hotel. The room was airy, confortable and well furnished. This hotel is near to Cúcuta's downtown (avg. 20 minutes by bus) and there exists easy transportation to get to everywhere at Cúcuta. While I was staying here I have problems with the service provided by the employees. The room did not received any kind of cleanliness for a couple of days because the lack of personal and the same it was seen in the restaurant in which no service was offered at noon and in the evening. However I have no negative comments about the breakfast, the food was delicious. I would recommend this hotel for fast staying...
