The hotel is beautiful, and located 15km away of Villavicencio on the road that goes to Puerto Lopez, a small town on the Llanos Orientales.||||I spent a couple of days with my family and we had a great time. The facilities are clean, they have a good relaxing pool with a jacuzzi and a small pool for kids nearby. ||||The restaurant is good, with a menu plenty of options both with local and some international dishes. The breakfast included with the rate is good (fruit, eggs, coffee or chocolate, bread or arepas), there are other options but you have to pay additional.||||The rooms don't have telephone line, so anything you want, just take a short walk and ask, it won't take more than 5 minutes to walk the facilities from one side to the other. I think any room is good, you could ask one by the pool but some could be disturbed by the noise (the pool is closed at 8 pm). Of course there is WiFi all over the hotel, free of charge.||||The staff was helpful and kind. Note: I am not sure about the skills of the staff in other languages than Spanish, so be sure that you practice it before you go, it will also help you with the other attractions.||||Finally, be prepared to enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets, see and hear nice birds and of course take with you your mosquito repellent, you won't be eaten alive but it is better to use some, just in case.||||My plan was not spent the whole day there (I used it as my "headquarter") but to go from there to some of the main attractions on the region. I highly recommend the Hacienda Marsella (5km away of the hotel), but this will be other review.||||If your plan is also to go around and see what the region has to offer, my suggestion is to rent a car or get a service that picks you up daily. Take into consideration that the commuting time between the hotel and Villavicencio or nearby towns (like Cumaral, where you get the best "mamona") would be around 30 - 40 minutes in...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to the hotel early January (2017) to relax. My first impressions of the hotel were a. the place is nice and b. the rooms are clean. Check-in went smoothly and since it was late, we had something to eat at the restaurant and it was good. The next day we had a good and simple breakfast and then relaxed by the pool. For lunch we decided to go out and when we got back, we noticed that our valuable items (such as two laptops, a camera and much more) were stolen from our bedroom. It was dark when we arrived and it seemed who ever stole our valuable items knew what to steal and how due to the evidence that was left behind. The robber or robbers took advantage of the poor security: a. the door had a poor alarm system (it would only go off if the door was left open at a specific angle), b. there was only one security guard responsible for the complex, c. no cameras were set up, d. the hotel was surrounded by dark fields and e. there were only bushes surrounding the complex that went up to my belly-button. The receptionist helped us as much as he could when we reported the incident and the police were also involved but I didn´t feel safe after what had happened. Unfortunately, it was too late to stay somewhere else but we left the next day early once things were settled with the hotel. About 2.5 months later the hotel´s insurance finally paid us back but it definitely didn´t meet the value of what was stolen. Overall, it´s a nice place but I would never return because I didn´t feel safe there and it is important to go somewhere where...
Read moreHotel Campestre Brizantha was more than I expected. After reading all the reviews, I was more than enthusiastic in arriving and having a tranquil weekend. BUT, I am blown away by the beauty of this place. I had the room directly in front of the pool with 2 full size beds. The room had A/C, a fridge (mini bar) with snacks and drinks (including Rum, Aquardiente and juice), a large flat screen TV with Direct TV. The beds were so comfortable and the room was lovely. The bathroom was modern and stocked with the necessary amenities incase you ran out of shampoo or cream. It is so obvious the owners of this place love it as the grounds were well manicured, clean and just simply beautiful. The pool was split in 3. The main pool, a kiddie pool and the jacuzzi. IT IS FANTASTIC. But, the reality is that you can have a beautiful place but if the service is not good then why go, right? Well, the service here is amazing. From the moment the hotel van picked us up at the airport to the moment we left, we were treated like royalty. I could not thank them enough for the service they provided. There was no request too large or too small that went unanswered. Jimmy was front and center and ready to make our weekend the most memorable it could be. So, when searching for a place in Villavicencio that require beauty, tranquility, attention to detail, fantastic service then look no further. This is the place to be. WORTH EVERY...
