I will not stay at this hotel again. I don't feel safe leaving my items of value behind in the room.
It is very concerning that they are very interested if I am in the room and have checked several times. I can't say for a fact, but feel they are interested in stealing my money or items while I am out and about.
I was consistently being disturbed even when hanging the do not disturb sign outside my door. If I have the do not disturb sign outside my door, it means do not disturb - literally it is that simple. However, I suspect there's a more sinister reason for all the disturbances as outlined above. Other than that this hotel is good and centrally located. Some of the staff is great, others are very suspicious over their intentions.
Maintenance was very prompt and fast.
Breakfast was great.
Check out was a little difficult and timely. You are forced to go through reception. I wish there was a more efficient process - perhaps allowing you to check out by just leaving.
If you stay here I don't recommend leaving any money or anything of value in your room. Take all your money and items of value with you. Someone will go into your room while you are gone. Remember they have the key...
Read moreWe went to this hotel to see a Casanare show, complete with a llanera band. The show itself was awesome, and the service was acceptable. Air conditioning would have been nice, but it wasn’t available. Our problem with this hotel was that, as Americans, we’re very accustomed to waitstaff taking our credit card to a terminal for payment. Seems our waiter knew this, and didn’t provide the wireless “tap” terminal. He took my card to run it at a terminal. He also sold or used my card numbers fraudulently. After noticing several thousand dollars of fraudulent charges the next morning, I had to shut down my credit card and report fraud to my credit card company. The hotel says they reviewed camera footage of our table that evening, but didn’t see anything unusual. In Colombia, the locals know to never let your credit card leave your possession. I’m sure this hotel management knows this too, but didn’t want to admit they have an employee...
Read moreAfter being loyal guests for over a decade, we've observed some concerning changes during our recent stay at GHL Hotel Yopal. The air conditioning in the rooms seems ineffective and turns off when you're not present, resulting in uncomfortable temperatures upon returning from a hot day. Despite experiencing this issue on multiple occasions, the staff's solution was to relocate us in the middle of the night rather than addressing it promptly. Additionally, the thin walls amplified disturbances, particularly when neighboring pets were noisy. As frequent visitors, we may need to explore alternative accommodations in the area...
