Mikhael's Hôtel — Hotel in Brazzaville (municipality)

I was in Room 509. It has a big bed, TV, desk and chair, small fridge (no minibar), closet, full-length mirror, luggage rack and in-room safe. There are no coffee-making facilities in the room. The bathroom has a shower (no bath), a large mirror and a makeup mirror. There was no hair dryer in the room, so I used my own. ||||This is a really nice hotel. It is nicely furnished. The lobby, restaurant and other common areas are very stylish. One annoying thing: there is a little step up when entering the elevator. I almost tripped over it the first time. Goodness only knows who thought this was a good design.||||The restaurant here is very good. We ate here two nights and were impressed with the food and service. ||||The staff here are very nice and very helpful, including organizing the hotel shuttle to give us a ride to and picking us up from a restaurant we went to eat at one night.||||You can pay when you arrive or wire money in advance (for a discounted per night fee). I originally went with the ‘‘pay on arrival’’ option, but just over a week before the trip - when I was more confident that my African airlines would not have a schedule change! - I arranged to wire the money and paid the discounted rate.||||I highly recommend Mikhael’s if you’re staying in...

Das Hotel Mikhaels ist eines der besten Hotels in Brazzaville. Es liegt nur ein paar Minuten mit dem Taxi vom Flughafen (Tipp: die Locals zahlen 2.000 CFA für eine Wegstrecke) und sehr nah am Fluss Kongo.|In der Umgebung sind eine ganze Reihe an Shops (auch für Ladegeräte), Restaurants, Apotheken (mit Moskitospray) und Cafés. Auch die französische und deutsche Botschaft sind nur einen Sprung entfernt. |Im Hotel selber wird man sehr warm willkommen geheißen. Ein hoch professionelles Personal an der Rezeption kümmert sich von Anfang an sehr gut um einen - die sind echt top. Etwa die Hälfte des Staffs im Hotel spricht Englisch, neben dem obligatorischen Französisch.|Das Hotel selber ist hell, offen und freundlich gehalten. Praktisch alle Räume sind angenehm klimatisiert und großzügig geschnitten. In der Lobby im Erdgeschoss und in der Bar im ersten Geschoss findet sich allerhand afrikanische Kunst. Die Galerie mit zeitgenössischen Bildern im Erdgeschoss rundet das ab. Wirklich klasse!|Das Essen ist gut, genauso wie das Frühstück. Es gibt viele warme und kalte Speisen, Früchte, Säfte, heiße Getränke und sogar eine Eierstation mit einem richtig guten Omelette. Wer es etwas exklusiver mag, der geht zwanzig Meter um die Ecke zur hauseigenen Patisserie mit traumhaften kleinen Kuchen. Auf der Hauptkarte des Restaurants sind zum Beispiel die Calamari sautee und die Kebap-Spieße empfehlenswert,. |Die Bar im ersten Geschoss ist gerade am Wochenende gut besucht. Man chillt rund um den Pool und geniesst ein kaltes Bier oder gute Cocktails. Der Service ist eher auf Slow Food und Slow drinking ausgerichtet.|Die Zimmer selber sind geräumig, gut klimatisiert, sauber, ruhig und es gibt selten mal ein Moskito. Im großen Bett kann man angenehm bequem schlafen. Im Zimmer selber sind ein Fernseher, ein Safe und eine Minibar. Viel mehr braucht es auch nicht. Ich habe mehrere Zimmer haben dürfen (203, 209, 405) und die waren alle top.|Im Erdgeschoss gibt es einen Geldautomaten von Société Generale. Im Hotel selber kann man auch mit Visa zahlen. Braucht man ein Taxi, hilft einem die aufmerksame Security.|Aufgrund der Logistik vor Ort habe ich mein Zimmer mehrfach Tag für Tag verlängert. Excellent 4-star hotel in downtown Brazzaville. Our twin executive rooms on the 5th floor were quite comfortable, spacious and clean. Quite extensive TV channels choice, powerful and ubiquitous Wifi connection. No power outages throughout our 8 night stay (August 2020). Smiling, quick and friendly service. The hotel restaurant was very good, providing large servings at average prices. We did not try the swimming pool at the first floor terrace, but other guests did - it looked well kept and the water was pretty clean.
