The Résidence Hôtelière de Moungali is a pretty good hotel in the heart of Brazzaville where I stayed with a friend for three days. I had a large room with a big bathtub. It is a clean hotel with an impeccable service. The manager is particularly professional. He contacted me a couple of days before our stay to arrange a pick up from the airport. I told him we were coming from Kinshasa. He immediately proposed to pick us up from there. I agreed. A charming young woman came to pick us up at the "beach" (where the boats from Kinshasa arrive). Once at the hotel, the manager in person came to greet us. We were pleased. ||However, I must tell you that the hotel restaurant is not so good. On the first day, just after our arrival, we ordered a few dishes. A kind receptionist told us that we had time for a walk while the cook prepared the food. We followed her advise. We left. We visited the area. There were hundreds of small shops, most of them selling the same clothes. After one hour, we came back to the restaurant, thinking our food was waiting for us. We were mistaken. We had to wait for thirty or forty more minutes to see something. And when it came we were disappointed because the chicken was so hard I couldn't eat it and my friend, a Congolese man, struggled a lot too. In other words, I don't advise you to eat at the hotel. I’ve heard this hotel used to be better and the English speaking staff has quit his job.
I understand it’s Africa - I accept that people have no concept of time in general. But when you claim to be a 2/3 star hotel. Please make sure you provide the services accordingly.
