EyB Chalets — Hotel in Ángeles

I experienced unsatisfactory customer service during my recent stay. The host's responses were condescending. Upon checking into our Airbnb on February 27th at 2:47 PM, I conducted a thorough inspection of the bed and mattress. While checking the sheets, I discovered a alive bed worm and a large dead bug. Further investigation revealed two more live worm , along with dust and a yellow stain on the sheets.

I promptly requested a sheet replacement and cleaning, reaching out via WhatsApp, Airbnb, and Instagram. After a two-hour wait, I received a response from the host with no apologies, he only said that someone would be sent. Despite waiting in my car no one arrived until 7:23 PM. The cleaner changed the inside sheets (the white ones) but not the top one because when we then went inside and saw the same worm on top of the pillow at the same place.

Due to the unacceptable conditions, I requested a refund as I needed to find alternative accommodation. The host refused, asserting that having bugs in the bed is "normal" for a woodland setting. This stance is absurd, as I have stayed in various Airbnb properties in Costa Rica's woods over the past weeks, none of which were dirty. Drawing from my own experience as a chalet owner, I have never encountered bugs under pillows and sheets.

If you are comfortable with alive and dead bugs in your bed sheets, this Airbnb may suit you, as the host deems it a « normal »and« uncontrolable »...

Excelente lugar. Su ubicación en San Rafael de Heredia es perfecta para desconectarse y relajarse. Los días que fuimos el clima estuvo espectacular. El chalet 2 tiene todo lo necesario, el servicio excelente y las bebidas y snack de cortesía muy buen detalle. Cerca hay muchas opciones para visitar y comer. Mi única sugerencia es colocar algo dentro del chalet para poder doblar o colgar la ropa. Lo demás...

Ideal para tiempo en pareja. El chalet #2 se encontraba muy limpio, bien equipado y muy acogedor. Además, a pesar de ser una cabaña de montaña se nota que ha sido remodelada y la decoración era muy agradable.
