The land here is truly magical! 160 acres of vibrant, living nature, lovingly tended by Ingrid & Marco’s generous heart and spirit. You fall asleep and wake up to the purest music of the jungle, with butterflies dancing through the flowers and birds singing all around. The mineral-rich spring water comes straight from the tap and the beds are comfy and cosy, offering deep, restful sleep.
The rooms are well-ventilated with screened windows, so you can fall asleep to the soft night breeze…an absolute breath of fresh air from air conditioning. Everything is clean and thoughtfully arranged, with sweet touches that reflect how much care has been poured into this space.
We didn’t even need to lock our door…it’s that safe here. It’s also super close to town and easy to get to, but feels like a world away once you arrive.
What makes this place so different is that it’s Ingrid’s & Marco’s home, not a cookie-cutter hotel. They welcome you like family, with open-hearted warmth and attention. It’s quaint, charming, and full of soul…every corner tells a story.
I would choose this over any whitewashed 5-star resort. This is 5 stars of untouched, unfiltered nature…and a deeply nourishing, heartfelt stay I’ll...
Read moreMy wife and I (in our 60's from the USA) visited the Finca Isla Cabinas for 4 days / 3 nights in November 2016. We had to change our travel itinerary due to the land fall of Hurricane Otto in Costa Rica. We found this rustic and unusual place to stay at AirBnb. The owners (Ingrid and Josh) were interesting hosts and quite helpful during our stay. The 5 Cabinas are worker lodging from the 1980's when this was a 80 acre coffee plantation. The owners are in the process of remodeling all of the units and have only rented some of the Cabinas for 5 months. There is some more work and fine tuning to be done so don't expect luxury lodging. If you wish to have a rustic, unique and quaint Costa Rica experience, this place is perfect for you. The nightly fee is very reasonable. The owners have promised to correct errors (that we pointed out) in the AirBnb listing to be more accurate. With everything said, we DID enjoy our experience...
Read moreThe host is extremely kind and gracious. She is a gem and sweet heart. However we felt a little misled with the listing for this place. We booked our stay thru Airbnb and felt that it was portrayed as a little less rustic than it actually is. This property is situated on a hill side between two converging rivers (which is quite beautiful) however, the bugs where kind of too much to deal with. And we live in a VERY insect occupied area at home and this was even a little much for us. We could not get comfortable with our sleeping arrangement either; due to the lack of air conditioning or even fans. It is so humid and damp here that you absolutely can’t sleep without even a fan especially if you are from the states. The property is very beautiful, however if you decide to book, please be prepared to live like you are camping. No luxuries...
