Our horseback riding adventure with CRParaiso was an unforgettable highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. From start to finish, everything about the experience was exceptional.

We rode through lush tropical forest trails, passed through a charming village, and took in stunning panoramic views of Lake Arenal that truly took our breath away. The scenery alone would’ve been enough, but what made it even more special was the care and attention from the owner and guide, who made us feel welcomed, safe, and completely at ease.

The horses were gentle, well-trained, and incredibly responsive, making the ride enjoyable for both beginners and more experienced riders. Their calm temperament allowed us to truly relax and soak in the beauty around us.

While in Nuevo Arenal, I booked a last minute bird watching tour. Bret responded shortly after via email providing clear instructions on how to reach the property. It is a couple of kilometers up the hill from near the last bridge by the town. The instructions were clear. I don't think you need a 4x4 but parts of the road are somewhat steep but most of the commute was paved.

The property is beautiful, with jungles, ponds, creeks, and vistas of Arenal. Bret and his guide Brandon were super generous of their time and really seamed to just enjoy bird spotting. My friends and I did the night walk after a rainy day in Nuevo Arenal. Our guides were kind and charismatic, however didn’t demonstrate the highest level of expertise about the animals and nature around us. We saw a snake, a bird, some bugs and frogs, which were cool however we were hoping to see a little more. Overall, convenient location if you’re staying in Nuevo Arenal and cool experience, but just felt like a walk at night. We would have appreciated more information about the land...
