You must book a night tour here - it was the highlight of my Costa Rica trip and a once-in-a lifetime experience. La Ceiba is a primary rain-forest and 49 hectare reserve, which serves as the release site for animals nurtured and healed at the Jaguar Rescue Center. It is stunningly remote and gorgeous. Walk across a small bridge over a river and a lovely vegetarian meal awaits you. We had the please of going on the night hike with the two people who manage La Ceiba as well as Neirea (sp?) (the Spanish lady from the Basque country). The managers, Paul and Morgan, are lovely. They were so kind to take care of us when we wandered out to this isolated paradise on the wrong evening. Neirea is a magical, spiritual woman full of passion for the jungle and brimming with knowledge. She pointed out so many mystical creatures on our journey, including all sorts of frogs, spiders, and a "walking tree." She guided us through a river and we spent a few moments in the peaceful dark. She displayed so much reverence for the jungle that the night become a truly moving experience. I can't recommend her and this experience highly enough. I will never forget it. Just like my pictures don't do the jungle and its creatures justice, these words don't do her justice. Go support La Ceiba and the Jaguar Rescue Center. Don't miss this on your trip...

This was an amazing tour and one of our favorites on our entire vacation. Dexter was very knowledgeable and we even stopped and turned off our lights to enjoy a few minutes of the sounds of the rain starting to fall paired with all the animal noises from the forest. It was a...
