Hotel Boutique Meraki Costa Rica — Hotel in Caldera

PROS: Hotel Boutique Meraki is an amazing looking place. Well kept grounds and the main pool was clean. The staff is very friendly.

CONS: The food may have upset my stomach as well as mine. It hurts, but afraid to use the restroom because there is NO WATER. We had different food when we ordered, so not sure if it is coincidence or something was mishandled in the kitchen. We had cereal and milk in the AM before coming here and ordered lunch and dinner here as well. Not looking forward to breakfast. Never had issues with stomach aches at números sodas in Costa Rica. Now with that said, we are in the room while we write this review with literally no water in the room since 9:00pm …it is 11:55 pm on February 24th. 2024. Remember that I said our stomachs hurt…there is NO WATER…not in the sinks, toilets, nor showers. We CANNOT FLUSH. When we asked one of the staff earlier, she mentioned something about the water was turned off to conserve it. Not sure if the hotel shuts water off or if it is done by the town. Now to kick a dog laying down, there is LOUD music playing and laughter from the area that is down the hill. I am livid right now because we paid top dollar for the hotel stay and we CANNOT flush the bathroom other than peeing (unable to flush) and cannot sleep with this LOUD MUSIC. We were upgraded to a room with 2 double beds and a twin bed which was nice to have the extra room to spread out (Room 3). The room however did not have a coffee maker or a refrigerator although we were able to get ice from the bar. The restaurant food was average. We did enjoy the complimentary breakfast which was substantial. The shower did not get very warm and not much water pressure. There is ALOT of highway traffic noise (trucks downshifting). Fuimos con el day pass, que incluía almuerzo y coffee break, y la experiencia en general fue muy positiva. Las instalaciones están realmente bien cuidadas y son perfectas para disfrutar en grupo o en pareja. Hay varias piscinas disponibles; en la principal había un DJ animando el ambiente cerca del bar, pero también hay opciones más tranquilas. En nuestro caso, encontramos una piscina apartada que tuvimos solo para nosotros durante todo el día, lo cual fue ideal.||Llegamos a partir del mediodía, ya que en la mañana aprovechamos para ir a la playa. Luego disfrutamos el almuerzo incluido, que fue un casado típico, bien servido y sabroso. También pedimos dos yardas en el bar, que estaban deliciosas, aunque un poco más pequeñas que las yardas tradicionales.||Lo único que no nos convenció fue el coffee break. Nos pareció sin gracia, ya que consistía únicamente en un pequeño trozo de queque seco con café.
